The next SWTOR expansion is called Legacy of the Sith and will be on the planets of Manaan and Flashpoint on Elom!

I know there’s a text filter so here’sa codex entry about manaan. “Few planets have been as important to both sides of the war as Manaan. But with its surface covered completely by water, and with its native Selkath population having adopted an isolationist stance, access to the planet can be difficult to come by. The Selkath economy’s reliance on the export of kolto to the Republic and the Empire does provide opportunities to visit, but guests are typically limited to the world’s few trading platforms–the only surface structures not affected by the Empire’s bombardment of the planet during the Great Galactic War. Millennia of Rakatan dominion over the planet and a predominantly unexplored ocean floor evoke strong temptations to probe Manaan’s crushing depths. However, due to the strategic importance of its kolto reserves, Manaan will have to largely remain a mystery for now.” BioWare marks a new era for…

You Can Now Play as LEGO Yoda in Star Wars Battlefront 2 (With Mods)

Tired of looking at an overly CGI-generated version of Yoda in Star Wars: Battlefront 2? Well, with the help of a mod by user Dulana57 on NexusMods you can change the character model for everyone’s favorite, green Jedi into a LEGO-style master of the Force. While the mod is purely cosmetic and only for Yoda, it’s still a nifty creation for your mod collection. The character model is well-made, semi-naturally fits in with the SWBF2 world, and is fully animated as well. On NexusMods this particular mod is titled “LEGO Yoda Mod. It’s available for download and use now. Mods can be a great way to breath new life into an aging game. There are a few decent ones available for Star Wars: Battlefront 2. It has been noted, however, that, due to developer restrictions, that it has been somewhat challenging for even the most dedicated modding champions to create…

Star Wars Fan Short with 70s Look and Feel is Definitely Worth a Watch

Dark Empire Episode 1: The Destiny of a Jedi is a recently released short film from WilkinsAnimations. With a run-time of approximately 12 minutes, it’s definitely not the length that makes it stand out. Instead, it’s unique, 1970s-era animation style and great story line are what keep you interested. In fact, the short is so good it actually feels like a teaser – just casually wetting your appetite for a full-length episode. The creator does have additional episodes in the works, which is exciting because this talented artist may be able to bring in a big enough audience to capture the attention of the likes of Lucasfilm Animation. The story follows an adventure featuring Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, C-3PO. R2-D2, and Luke Skywalker. The events take place a few years beyond the battle of Endor. A new, unknown disturbance within the force has appeared in the galaxy, threatening all…

Star Wars: The old Republic Nearing $1 Billion in Lifetime Revenue

Star Wars: The Old Republic (SWTOR), a MMO developed by BioWare that released in late 2011, is apparently still a commercial success for EA. A recent earnings call from the publisher revealed that the game is currently coming very close to topping $1 billion in revenue. Now, that is over the course of about 8 years, but it’s still impressive nonetheless. SWTOR was an insanely expensive undertaking for EA to begin with. Reportedly, the game set the publisher back roughly $200 million for initial development costs. With that number alone, one would assume that translates to EA raking in nearly $800 million in pure profit, right? Well, keep in mind that the game is still being continually updated with new content, patches, and so on. There are STILL ongoing costs for development of the game. So, how much profit has EA actually pulled in with Star Wars: The Old Republic?…

Will Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Answer the Call of Gamers?

The gaming industry for the past decade has been primarily centered around multiplayer-focused titles. As with most industries – times change. For years now, gamers have been making calls for developers to create more single-player, story-driven experiences rather than churning out online multiplayer titles year after year. Those calls have mostly fallen upon deaf ears, however. Why? Well, mostly because multiplayer games rake in huge money and keep player bases active for longer. Nevertheless, some developers are finally starting to see that narrative-heavy, non-multiplayer pieces have a good market as well. Respawn Interactive is delivering one in particular soon that has gamers hyped-up big time – Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. Fallen Order is set a few years beyond Revenge of the Sith. The protagonist, Cal Kestis, is a previous Padawan currently on the run from the Empire after Order 66 was enacted. With the powers-that-be of the Dark Side…

Yup, you read that correctly – with the use of a mod that just became available for download on NexusMods, players have the ability to traverse the sprawling landscapes of the game dawning nothing more than Leia’s birthday suit. It’s worth noting that the mod goes into quite a bit of detail as well. Due to the adult nature of the mod, we won’t be including any graphic images or a direct link. All you have to do, though, is head over to NexusMods, log into your account, make sure that adult content is activated within your account setting, go to…

Why Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Won’t Allow Dismemberment Too Often

Despite the fact that every true Star Wars fan knows and respects the limb-slicing capabilities of a lightsaber – we really haven’t seen much of it in the franchise’s video games. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order isn’t going to break the cycle either, says Aaron Contreras, the narrative lead at Respawn Entertainment. While the developers recognize that players would love to have the ability to chop off arms and other body parts – Respawn states that they prefer to save this gruesome display of power for pivotal moments in the story itself. A sentiment that they believe follows the same climatic experiences of the Star Wars movies. Star Wars games have, for the most part, been pretty conservative when it comes to gore and extreme violence. A few key moments in campaigns feature some brutal lightsaber action, but not much else. There have been titles where the gore levels were…

Why EA Shifted to Single-Player with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order

Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the past decade it’s probably challenging to understand how Electronic Arts (EA), a company that seems to know nothing but multiplayer titles and bad press, has made the decision to publish a game the likes of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order. A single-player experience with no opportunities for season passes or loot boxes? Something seems off. That is EA’s modus operandi, after all. How did EA of all companies wind up making the decision to shift to a single-player, campaign-driven title? To be fair, they do have a few titles with great stories behind them. This still is, however, the company that has produced a couple Star Wars games already that have practically ZERO narrative and are solely focused on multiplayer (yes, we’re referring to the Battlefront games). Nevertheless, here we are – with Electronic Arts being the publisher putting out Star…

Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s The Rise of Skywalker Drops Next Month

Getting a little bored with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and need a reason to keep playing or take another look at it? Well, December may very well be your best chance to do so. The entire month has been dubbed a “celebration month” by EA DICE and it all kicks off with the addition of The Rise of Skywalker content for SWBF2. The developers have been tight-lipped when it comes to what to actually expect from the Skywalker update, unfortunately. It’s probably safe to assume, however, that we will see the addition of some new maps and possibly a new character or two. This new content update is, of course, due out just before the theatrical release of the new movie – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The movie will hit theaters on December 20th and is a continuation of the latest series of Star Wars films beginning with…

Star Wars Battlefront Franchise Sales Exceed 33 Million Copies

Despite going through a rough period of consumer upset over including microtransactions (loot boxes, to be specific), Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront franchise has performed quite well. On a quarterly earnings call, EA announced that the combined sales of Star Wars Battlefront and its sequel are now over 33 million. The first Battlefront title, released in late 2015 and developed by DICE was a reboot of the shooter series released on PC, Mac, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. The sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which came out in November of 2017, released with a campaign mode in addition to multiplayer gameplay. Numerous DLC expansions were released for both titles as well as regular updates to each game. This has been noted as a primary reason that both SWBF and SWBF2 have kept their fan base alive and well. DLC packs released for Star Wars: Battlefront include: Battle of Jakku Outer Rim…

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Developer Interview Digs Into Decision of Going the Single-Player Route

A single-player, narrative-based Star Wars title has been a rarity in the gaming industry for the better part of 10 years now. The last true story-drive game within the franchise prior to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II which made its debut in 2008. The announcement of a new single-player title in the Star Wars universe was a surprise on its own. Combine that with the fact that it’s being published by none other than EA and you’d probably think the news were a farce had we not gotten a concrete launch date, trailers, and more at this point. Electronic Arts isn’t exactly known for having a great public image with gamers these days. Plus, they’re notorious for putting out nothing but multiplayer titles riddled with microtransactions (up until Battlefront 2, at least). So, what made EA of all publishers decide to take up…

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Interview Sheds Light on Game’s Dark Origins

In an interview with STACK, Respawn Entertainment’s narrative lead, Aaron Contreras provided further details about the backstory behind Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, gameplay info, and more. Why Fallen Order is Set Shortly After Revenge of the Sith When asked about the timeline of the game, Contreras stated that the Respawn team decided to roll with a period just a few years past Revenge of the Sith because they found it to be one of the most intriguing ages in the Star Wars franchise. Aaron went on to say that due to the Empire having immense power throughout the galaxy during this time and Order 66 being in place, this period paved the way for a story based on an emerging hero – one that has to stay off the Empire’s radar and fighting to flee persecution. Why Force Players to Utilize a Specific Character? Aaron also shed a little…
