This one comes to us from DarthAngelus and it premiered on May 21st. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend it. Chapter 1 of Heir to the Empire, by Timothy Zahn. Adapted into a short fanfilm. What’s it about? The Rebel Alliance has destroyed the Death Star, defeated Darth Vader and the Emperor, and driven the remnants of the old Imperial Starfleet to a distant corner of the galaxy. RESCUE – A Star Wars Fan Film

Are you looking for a bit of Star Wars lightsaber action to perk up your day? You may want to take a 5-minute break and check out this awesome fan fic. It’s short, so it gets right to the action immediately. It’s called “Rescue”, which gives you a good idea of what’s going on when you start, but it has a twist ending you probably won’t see coming. I won’t spoil it for you, of course, but you should really check it out. It’s a short fan film with a lot of potential. There’s very little voice acting in it, but there doesn’t need to be. Honestly, that’s a testimony to the directing and the story. When you get tell the story without a ton of dialogue, it really says something. The makeup and costuming are pretty good, and the acting is also decent. The fight choreography is good. All…

May the Fourth Be With You!

Hello folks! It’s almost that time of year again- the 4th of May. The day that we celebrate our love of Star Wars on National Star Wars Day. Some people will celebrate at home alone with a big tub of popcorn watching the films. Others will celebrate with good friends and good food. Some may have a costume party host a costume party. No matter how you choose to celebrate, one thing is certain: this is a day for Star Wars fun. Wookiepedia gives us some tips on how some fans celebrate this special day: Typical festivities consist of inviting fellow Star Wars-obsessed friends to stay over, and then watching the series in succession. Lots of snacks, bring lightsabers and Star Wars-themed toys. Lightsaber fights in the early morning hours optional. Star Wars Day Attack Ad: Say No to May the 4th A special message that reveals the ugly truth about May the…

Winnie the Pooh as Darth Vader

Most of us remember the lovable voice of Winnie the Pooh. He is a childhood classic. And of course, those of us who are Star Wars fans (pretty much all of you reading, right?) also know that Darth Vader is a classic character we don’t forget. So what do you get when you combine the two? Well, this video below shows exactly what you get. Hilarity!

MTSBWY: Bohemian Rhapsody: Star Wars Edition

Based on Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen and Star Wars created by George Lucas. The students and faculty of the Digital Video Program at the University of Advancing Technology in Tempe, Arizona released a great new Star Wars themed parody. They aren’t the best singers in the world, but they’ve put together a great video, filled with some pretty impressive cosplay. There is also some decent wordplay in this, though I’ve no idea why Satanic Spock is part of it. Not complaining about the Samurai Mandalorians, or random bikini women in masks. Remember to turn on the captions.

Goodbye Moon — By Darth Vader

A bedtime story, Star Wars style… Darth Vader puts baby Leia to bed with a little help from every Sith Lord’s favorite soothing nighty-night tale of conquest and destruction: “Goodbye Moon!” I stumbled upon this little funny the other day and my kids love it. It’s a spoof on the famous “Goodnight Moon” story that most American children know well. But no one has ever told the story as well as Vader does in this version. “Goodnight Moon is an American children’s book written by Margaret Wise Brown and illustrated by Clement Hurd. It was first published in 1947, and is a highly acclaimed example of a bedtime story.” – Wikipedia (idea, text, and video by Andy Clinton)(most screen caps from starwarsscreencaps.com)(music by Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star) Check it out!

15 Reasons Why Jedi Knights Are Better than Pirates and Ninjas

There are too many pirates and ninjas roaming the Interwebs for my liking, so  it makes sense to examine specifically why Jedi Knights pwn both Ninjas and Pirates. 1. Ninjas and Pirates have to at least break a sweat to disarm each other.  A Jedi Knight just has to think it and you’re screwed. 2. Ninjas may use stealth, but Jedi Knights can use the Force to make you freakin’ forget they were even there.  In fact, with just a wave of a Jedi’s hand, you might end up finding yourself rocking back and forth outside a 7-11 while drooling profusely. 3. Seriously, can you name a ninja or pirate that is able to take out Sith Lord like Darth Maul, or a giant beast like the Rancor?  I didn’t think so… 4. A sword used by a Pirate or a Ninja can be broken.  Try and break a lightsaber. …

Seven Songs Inspired By Star Wars You Should Check Out

Star Wars has had a massive impact on pop culture around the world, inspiring fans to create their own works of art, fan films, fan fiction, and crafts.  But it is in music that we can also see the influence that George Lucas and Star Wars has had over the years.  Take a look at these 8 tunes inspired by the Star Wars saga: Weird Al Yankovic: The Saga Begins Amusing to many, iconic to geeks, and known to many as a Star Wars nerd at heart, The Saga Begins is not Weird Al’s first tribute to the films.  He’s done a few songs, but what makes this one stand out is it came out just before The Phantom Menace – which proved one thing: just like most of us hardcore fans, Al was scouring the web for spoilers about the prequels.  He did it so well; he used the…

Star Wars: Hunt for the Holocron

Here is a pretty good fan film that I have been waiting for for a while. It named “Hunt for the Holocron” and is directed by Martin Spitznagel. The movie is made by a dedicated group of young people entirely with practical effects — no 3D models were used in the film, only real models filmed against a greenscreen! — the film is a 30-minute love letter to Star Wars, complete with an original orchestral score. Read more about the movie here, and check it out below: HUNT FOR THE HOLOCRON is the story of Bando (Mark August Spitznagel, SAG-AFTRA) and Sahn (Dan Clavey) Jinkuru, young men thrown into a dangerous world when they find a Holocron, a record of Jedi secrets. Pursued by Dark Jedi Dregr Jarrat (Martin Spitznagel), whose thirst for the Holocron has reached obsession, the boys are aided by Jedi E’Din Kyle (David Turka) and smuggler…

Star Wars vs Game of Thrones- Meme Throwdown

Star Wars and Game of Thrones face off in this epic series of memes that Mashable has combined for us. Mashable says: Westeros and the Death Star may seem light years apart in the sci-fi universe, but Game of Thrones and Star Wars actually share a lot of scenarios. And thanks to this awesome subreddit, we can prove it. Ok, so we knew Redditors had to be behind this all along! So what the heck do these two things even have in common? Well Mashable lays out a few examples of the symmetry: Sure, outer space doesn’t have any dragons and the Seven Kingdoms won’t be fighting off Darth Vader and his Stormtrooper army anytime soon. But long before Cersei Lannister macked it with her brother, Princess Leia made familial flirting look totally normal. And Lord Walder Frey probably learned a few things about betrayal from Lando Calrissian himself. If you’re a fan of Star…

MTSBWY: Billy Dee and Patton Oswalt do ‘Star Wars’ karaoke

I’ve seen some ludicrously funny things in my day, but this is really a piece of work. This is just one of those things you have to experience to believe. I guess the video is an ad for Samsung’s Galaxy S4, and it features Lando Calrissian (Billy Dee Williams) hitting up Karaoke Night at the Cantina on Tatooine. Lando performs a embarrassingly bad rendition of Jason Schwartzman‘s song, “West Coast.” The video also features appearances by Schwartzman, Patton Oswalt, Carrie Keagan, Chris Hardwick, and Mike Phirman. Check the weirdness out.

MTSBWY: Animated Version of Patton Oswalt’s Brilliant Star Wars Pitch

If you’re a Star Wars fan and a Parks and Recreation fan, you probably remember the episode not so long ago when Patton Oswalt visited and delivered an incredible 8+ minute improve about his idea plt for Star Wars: Episode VII. It was hilarity at its best. Now, Isaac Moores has created an animation for the entire rant/skit which you can find here: See the original here: Patton Oswalt himself saw the animated filibuster and tweeted to Moores, as well as sent his “minions” to give the talented Moores some more followers. He went from 60 to over 1,00 in one day! Apparently spending 5 full days animating to improvised dialogue is a good way to spend ones time. Hello 1000 new followers. — Isaac Moores (@izacless) May 19, 2013 Hello Isaac and thank you for your awesome contribution!

Was the Death Star an Inside Job?

Video creator Graham Putnam describes the video as “an examination of some questionable events and circumstances leading up to the destruction of the Death Star, through the eyes of an amateur investigative journalist within the Star Wars galaxy. The focus is mainly on the connections between the people who created and operated the Death Star and those responsible for destroying it.” The seven-minute video documents “that fateful day” when “the terrorist organization known as the Rebel Alliance blew up the Death Star with a squad of single manned fighters … destroying the prominent political target. “But could the destruction of the Death Star have been an inside job perpetrated by top-ranking Imperial officials and royalty?” Comments on the video’s YouTube site were getting rambunctious and critical Tuesday morning: “Why does the narrator keep calling the destroyed planet ‘Alderbraun’?” … “Aldebran!? Have you even seen the movies!?” Another comment recalled President…

This is the story of the heroic Disney executives assigned the task of getting Harrison Ford to sign on as Han Solo in the new Star Wars movies. It took they guys  about 5 days to write the scripts, one day to shoot all three, then probably two weeks to edit them. They don’t currently have any more Star Wars parodies planned, but I’m sure we’ll do more in the future. Remember to follow these guys on Facebook.
