Darth Revan Figure at 2016 New York Toy Fair

There was a very interesting new toy at the 2016 New York Toy Fair. Here’s a picture of the Darth Revan figurine which actually came from a poll that Hasbro organized a few months ago about the next Star Wars figurine in the Black Series. It’s a 6-inch figure that goes along with others in the popular line. It should retail for around $20. As announced at San Diego Comic-Con, evil Sith Lord Darth Revan has won the Fan’s Choice poll and will join Hasbro’s realistic Black Series line! But that’s not all… Runner-up Sabine Wren, the popular Mandalorian explosives expert and artist from Star Wars Rebels will also join the Black Series! Each year at the New York Toy Fair, we get a sneak peek at the latest new toys, trends in the industry and much more. Toy Fair is produced by the Toy Industry Association™, Inc. (TIA), the not-for-profit…

Show Us Your Star Wars!

Whether you’ve seen the new film or been living under a rock the past couple of weeks, it’s very apparent that the Star Wars craze is here to stay. It doesn’t seem to be going anywhere any time soon. With this in mind, I’ve now taken to a little personal gamed called “Spot the Star Wars” and started taking photos of Star Wars items and displays that I come across throughout my daily life. So this got me thinking… what are other people seeing in their parts of the world? With this, an idea was born: Show us your Star Wars! We invite you to head over to our Facebook fanpage and share your own photos of Star Wars scenes, displays, merchandise or other goodies while out and about. We may even feature some of our favorite pics here on the site in a future post. To get it started,…

An Absolutely AMAZING SWTOR Christmas Present!

If you wanted something really awesome for Christmas, this would have made a killer present! How about the idea of having an action figure/ model of your own SWTOR character? As you can see, that is a 3D printed version of this person’s character that was given as a surprise gift. After Redditors begged to know where and how this was done, the poster, Dentface, provided a little more info about it. “Details are scare, since it was a surprise gift. All they told me was it was 3D printed then hand-painted.” He then added later, “Update: They contacted people at 3D hubs, who referred some local people who hand-painted and printed the figure.” If you really want one of these for yourself, you can gather up some reference shots of your character from different angles and then look up companies near you (or anywhere if they ship to you) and…

The Darkside of Fairy Tales

Who doesn’t love Star Wars toys? I have loved them all my life, since as far back as I can remember. Even in my college years and post-college years; after eras of student/community organizing, after reporting in a war torn region, after starting my own business, after living with my lover, deep in the dark forest of adulthood, I still couldn’t resist going to the toy section of any department store chain, just to see what Star Wars was up to. And I wasn’t alone. We have all seen someone from generation X, standing there just to see the Star Wars toys with the occasional child also checking out the magic. In the mid 90’s and late 90’s I read disturbing accounts of Disney abusing overseas workers and even children to make their products. I never bought those products as presents for family members and friends in fear of supporting…

Episode 7 Hype Escalating – Hasbro Reportedly Working on Line of Toys

As the release date of Star Wars 7: The Force Awakens (and of the new Battlefront title) approaches, everyone is looking to get in on the action. Toymaker Hasbro has apparently prepared an extensive line of Star Wars: The Force Awakens toys, which includes blasters, light sabers, action figures and remote controlled droids. The company hasn’t exactly been keen on making its efforts public, but fans have dug up a list of toys Hasbro are allegedly working on right now. The figurines will be mostly 3.75-inch ones, and there will be a special “Black Series” line of action figures too, aimed at collectors. Alleged photographs of some of the toys were leaked as well, although they’re of somewhat questionable quality, and some of the figurines featured (like that of Chewbacca) are apparently older releases from Hasbro. There are other inconsistencies with the Chewbacca toy featured in the photos: apparently, the…

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Six Inch Action Figures Leaked Photo

TheForce.net has come in possession of a leaked photo, of action figures for Star Wars: The Force Awakens. The picture apparently originates in a Chinese forum and features four characters that was seen in the Star Wars trailer. Presumably the first figure is Kylo Ren. He looks pretty much like the Revan rumor image that surfaced a few month back.  Finn is without his Storm trooper armor it appears, but he wouldn’t ware that forever anyways.  I am not sure who the third person is, but the last two must be BB-8 and Chewie. What do you guys think?

EA made a deal with very popular toy company Hasbro regarding the manufacture and sale of Star Wars toys. With the new movies and everything else in the works, you know these toys are going to end up being very profitable and popular. Just take a look around any big box or department store shortly before and after a movie release and you will see character toys and games everywhere. The Motley Fool explains: On Tuesday, both Hasbro (NASDAQ: HAS  ) and Electronic Arts (NASDAQ: EA  ) stock rose slightly after the companies announced a new four-year…

Star Wars Figures Inducted into Toy Hall of Fame

Sure you love your Star Wars toys but did you know that you’re not alone? Star Wars action figures, along with the classic game Dominoes, were inducted to the National Toy Hall of Fame last week. They joined the ranks of famous toys such as Barbie, Mr. Potato Head, marbles and the Teddy Bear so future generations will forever know the importance and significance of these great toys. Democrat and Chronicle tell us more: “Star Wars” action figures were introduced by Kenner in the 1970s. The success of those toys spurred the industry to create more toys linked to movies, television series and comic books. The toys also were finalists in 2011. “Every kid knows these toys,” said Hall of Fame Curator Patricia Hogan. “They are a force to be reckoned with.” We couldn’t agree more. I remember playing with them as did my parents and now, even my children. They are…
