How To Check Camo Progress Black Ops 6?

Do you remember the days when microtransactions were not a thing? Companies were making games to give their customers an immersive experience rather than treating them like a cash grab, as today’s companies do. In the old days, companies were trying to create an experience by adding cool cosmetics and quests that encouraged players to play the game more. For instance, completing missions and side quests in a game to collect a rare skin was always a challenge. Sometimes, you had to get specific things at a specific location within a limited time, and then you would have to acquire that item in a particular condition to unlock the rare cosmetic.

A lot of gamers appreciate these kinds of features because they show that a game company was trying to build a game as an experience rather than just making a quick buck. Some companies have kept this tradition of giving away free cosmetics after completing quests, even after the introduction of microtransactions. This includes Activision, despite being notoriously known for microtransactions—whether it’s the collaboration cosmetics with superstars or the introduction of skins that are considered pay-to-win.

However, they have still kept the win-to-get skins in the game, which are honestly great-looking and come with bragging rights. The only problem is that these skins are not easy to get, and even after a decade of them being in the game, Activision has not given us a separate feature to check our progress toward unlocking them. You can check your progress, but you have to restart your game every time you do it. So, in this blog, I will talk about how you can check the progress of your camo in Black Ops 6. We will discuss different ways of checking skin progression in the game.

If you’re looking for a quicker way to showcase the rarest skins without grinding for hours, there are alternative options available. Many players choose to buy Dark Matter camo instead of spending weeks completing in-game challenges. While earning it yourself comes with prestige, purchasing the camo can save you time and let you enjoy the game with a top-tier look instantly. Whether you prefer the challenge or a shortcut, having an exclusive camo always makes a statement in Black Ops 6.

How to Check Camo Progress Beforehand:

This is the default way of checking progress, but it requires you to restart your game or quit the match you are playing. So, if you are in a match and want to know how many more kills you need to unlock the skin, you cannot check it without leaving the match. Anyway, here’s how you can check your progress:

  1. Go to the main menu of multiplayer or zombies and open the loadout menu.
  2. Pick the weapon you are currently working on.
  3. Go to Gunsmith and scroll to the Customization tab.
  4. Click on the Camos section and hover over the one you are currently working on.

This method is useful if you are starting a match and want to know how many more kills you need before jumping into it.

How to Check Camo Progress While in a Match:

There’s also a way to check your camo progress while playing a match, just to make sure that your efforts are making an impact. While this might not be the most optimal way of checking progress—since the mid-game challenge pop-up is still buggy—it is the only one we have. Here are three ways to check your camo progress mid-match:

  • Spamming the scoreboard key can sometimes trigger a camo update notification on the screen if you are making progress toward the camo.
  • Kill Tracker Pop-Ups: Enabling them will show challenge updates on-screen after a set number of kills.
  • Private Match: You can load into a private match, equip any weapon, and view camos—even if they’re locked for public use.

You can also use a third-party camo tracker, which works well and is the easiest way to keep an eye on progression. However, the problem is that these third-party trackers cannot be trusted and may trigger a ban on your account. In my opinion, it’s better not to use them at all.

How to Check Locked Weapon Progress:

If you have already reached a certain level and gained prestige, checking progress gets a little more difficult because the standard loadout menu does not even show locked weapons. However, there are three ways to check your progress apart from re-unlocking all the weapons. These workarounds are:

  • Private Match: Start a private match to equip your locked weapons and see their camo progress.
  • Tracker: Use a separate tracker to manually count your kills in private matches, since they don’t record stats.
  • Barracks: Check the Barracks section of the game for some camo progress stats, though it might not show everything.
