Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes January 7, 2026 Update – Farm Changes, Fixes, and Unit Tweaks

The first Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes update of 2026 isn’t flashy, but it’s meaningful. This patch focuses on accessibility, cleanup, and quiet groundwork for what’s coming next—exactly the kind of update that tends to matter more over time than it does on day one.

Here’s a clear breakdown of what changed, and how it affects day-to-day play.

Farmability Updates: A Shift Toward Accessibility

Several older units and ships have moved into more reliable farming locations, continuing CG’s slow but steady effort to reduce roster bottlenecks.

  • Zuckuss shards are now farmable from Fleet Battles (Hard) 4-B
    • He replaces TIE Advanced on that node
    • TIE Advanced blueprints move to Galactic War Shipments
  • 4-LOM shards are now farmable from Dark Side Battles (Hard) 2-F
    • He replaces IG-86 Sentinel Droid
    • IG-86 shards move to Galactic War Shipments
  • Rebel B-wing blueprints are now farmable from Cantina Battles 6-F

These changes are small individually, but together they make bounty hunter and Rebel fleets easier to progress without relying on shipments or event timing.

Character Progression Notes

A few important status updates came with the patch:

  • Satele Shan (Conquest character)
    • Full kit reveal (with images) is confirmed as coming soon
    • Her name now directly appears in ability text updates elsewhere, signaling imminent relevance
  • Maul (Hate-Fueled)
    • No mechanical changes in this patch, but his inclusion signals continued Starkiller-team support
  • Omega (Fugitive)
    • Now Accelerated, cutting shard requirements in half
    • A quiet but welcome change for players building newer Dark Side squads
  • Additive Drops Event
    • Confirmed as inbound, though details aren’t live yet

Bug Fixes and Quality-of-Life Adjustments

This update also cleans up a number of long-standing inconsistencies:

  • Fixed grammar errors in Darth Vader (Duel’s End) – Unique ability “I Am What Remains”
  • Corrected an issue where R2-D2 gained only 25% Turn Meter instead of 50% from a Rex datacron
  • Updated Episode Points descriptions to reflect all current acquisition methods
  • Fixed Rodian Pirate kills on Light Side 8-A not counting toward Journey quests
  • Resolved a timing issue allowing Jocasta Nu to use “It’s Up to You Now” too early
  • Fixed an incomplete crafting recipe for Power Cell Injector (Plasma) – Zuckuss
  • Corrected visual mismatches on focused datacrons

None of these change the meta, but they remove friction—especially for players progressing through older journeys or datacron setups.

Unit Updates: Old Republic Teams Get a Quiet Boost

Two Old Republic characters received meaningful text updates that expand their usefulness, especially in Territory Wars.

Bastila Shan – Force Bond (Unique 2)

What changed:
Her leader synergy now works with Satele Shan in addition to Jedi Knight Revan.

New effect highlights:

  • If Jedi Knight Revan or Satele Shan is the leader:
    • Bastila and the leader gain +70% Accuracy, Potency, and Tenacity
    • The leader recovers Protection from Legendary Battle Meditation
  • Anti–Darth Revan clause remains unchanged

Why it matters:
This strongly hints that Satele Shan is being positioned as a legitimate Old Republic Jedi leader, not just a standalone Conquest unit.

Mission Vao – Me and Big Z Forever (Unique 2)

Mission’s base ability text remains the same, but she gains a new Territory Wars–only clause:

Territory Wars effects:

  • If all allies are Old Republic and the leader is a Jedi:
    • Mission gains the Jedi tag at battle start
    • All allies gain 100 Speed for 1 turn
    • Allies are immune to cooldown reduction for 1 turn
    • Mission’s Basic grants Riposte to all allies for 2 turns
  • If Zaalbar is not present:
    • Mission treats the leader as Zaalbar for ability interactions

Why it matters:
This is a clear attempt to modernize Old Republic squads in Territory Wars without breaking other game modes. It rewards thematic team building while keeping the power spike contained.

What This Update Sets Up

This update isn’t about shaking up the meta. It’s about preparation.

  • Easier access to older units
  • Acceleration for newer characters
  • Ability text updated to support upcoming releases
  • Territory Wars receiving targeted, faction-specific tuning

Taken together, it looks like groundwork for a larger Old Republic push—likely centered around Satele Shan—rather than a standalone balance patch.

For players focused on long-term roster health, this is the kind of update that quietly pays off.
