Star Wars Battlefront II (2017) Mod: Female Clones — Yes, It’s Their Turn to Go to War

If you’ve ever looked at the endless ranks of clone troopers in Star Wars: Battlefront II (2017) and thought, “You know what this game needs? A gender swap that’s actually multiplayer-safe,” congratulations — Female Clones is here to deliver exactly that.

This mod gender-swaps all clone troopers, swapping in female voices and altered models across the clone roster. And before anyone tries to start a 400-comment culture war in your brain: relax. It’s a mod. No one is rewriting history. It’s just the women’s turn to wear the bucket and run into blaster fire.

What the mod does

  • Swaps all clones to female variants
  • Adds female voice lines
  • Uses altered character models
  • Built specifically as an MP-safe version (the author made it because they were having issues with another female clone mod)

Translation: if you want the vibe without the usual “works in arcade, explodes in multiplayer” energy, this is aiming to be the cleaner option.

Why this exists (according to the creator)

The mod author says they made this because the other fem clone mod was giving them issues, so they built a version intended to be multiplayer safe.

Which is honestly the most Battlefront modding motivation possible:

“Something annoyed me, so I built the version I wish existed.”

Respect.

Update notes (the important bits)

This mod has been getting practical fixes, which matters a lot for anything that touches troopers in MP.

  • Update 1.1
    • Fixed officers playing both male and female voice lines at the same time
    • Fixed what the author believes is the Supremacy ship phase Navy officer
  • Update 1.2
    • “Hopefully” fixes multiplayer crashing
  • Update 1.3
    • Clone Commando-related crashing should now be fixed

So if you tried an older version and it felt unstable, 1.3 is the one you want.

The vibe: “Women’s turn to go to war”

Look, the clones are literally engineered soldiers grown to fight somebody else’s war. So swapping them to female variants isn’t exactly the weirdest thing happening in the Star Wars military-industrial complex.

If anything, it’s kind of funny watching the internet struggle with:

  • “This is unrealistic!”
  • …in a game where you can get melted by a rolling ball droid and immediately respawn as a jet trooper with perfect aim.

Anyway: it’s a neat alternate take, it’s surprisingly immersive once you’re in the match, and if you’ve been bored of hearing the same clone voice set forever, it’s a fresh switch-up.

Quick install note

Follow the mod page’s instructions for your mod manager / load order. If you’re running a big stack of trooper/audio mods, test this one early so you can spot conflicts fast (voices + trooper models tend to be the first thing to fight).

If you want, paste the rest of your Battlefront II mod list and I’ll tell you what’s most likely to conflict with it (skins, trooper overhauls, audio packs, etc.).

When I was 7, I saw Star Wars: A New Hope in theaters a week after it opened. My parents were nice enough to take me and I have been a fan of Star Wars and almost all science fiction in general. I am an amateur writer who has been published for contributing flavor text to a RP game. I also have a copyright on a novel I hope to be able to publish sometime soon.
