AIAS Awards: SWTOR Wins Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay
The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences has recently announced the winners of its 15th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards and not surprisingly, Skyrim took home big prizes. But SWTOR was also recognized as it took home “Outstanding Achievement in Online Gameplay” and we tend to agree with this assessment. According to Gamasutra: The AIAS is a not-for-profit organization that celebrates creativity in video games worldwide. The IAA ceremony took place last night as part of the 2012 D.I.C.E. Summit. Skyrim won a total of five awards, including Game of the Year, while both PlayStation 3 hit Uncharted 3 and Valve’s first-person puzzler Portal 2 took home three awards each. You can see the full list of winners on the Gamasutra site. So what do you think? Did SWTOR deserve the recognition? There were some big names in the running this year and I am happy to see SWTOR bring at…
AbleGamers Votes SWTOR ‘Mainstream Game of the Year’
SWTOR has received another reward/recognition in the gaming community and quite honestly, I think this one is more important than any so far. AbleGamers Votes SWTOR ‘Mainstream Game of the Year’ and this is one of the best recognitions they’ve gotten so far. AbleGamers.com is “the #1 Site for Disabled Gamers” and a fantastic resource for anyone who loves games but has a disability that can affect their enjoyment of those games. Not only did they review SWTOR but they had some great words to say about its friendliness to those with disabilities: Every year there are two or three highly anticipated games released with massive hype and record-setting expectations. Most times these games fall completely flat when it comes to game accessibility, but this year one game set itself apart by including a fair amount of accessibility at launch while still meeting the public’s expectations for an amazing game….
Founder’s medal and title awarded to paying subscribers
We are a few days late with the story, but have you been playing SWTOR since beta or since launch? Do you enjoy the game and plan to stick around? BioWare has recently announced they have something fun for those who decide to renew their game subscription for another month and stick around. There will be a “Founder’s” medal and in-game title awarded to eligible paying subscribers. This is a fun little addition to anyone playing the game anyway and especially to those who enjoy titles, achievements and those little unique tributes in an MMO. This is an exclusive title that will not be available to anyone in the future and a great thank you from BioWare for being there from the beginning. Yesterday, BioWare writes in SWTOR news: “We would like to thank each and every one of you for helping to make Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ one…
