The guys over at BioWare Austin just announced how their plan for EndGame Gearing will work in patch 7.0 for Star Wars: The old Republic. This game update will return to vertical progression and have more or less no RNG. Check it out: Philosophy Our philosophy for gearing and progression in 7.0 is to ensure that players have the gear they need to play the content they want and that they can grow their power over time. Whether a player is here for the story or to take on the most powerful challenges in the galaxy, we want there to be something a player can look forward to that makes their characters stronger. Legacy of the Sith (7.0) will be reintroducing the vertical progression path for gearing. This type of progression is not new to the game; however, 7.0 will offer players new experiences and ways to obtain gear. Within a…

SWTOR Endgame Gearing Guide for Empire Players
One of the biggest questions gamers have when they reach level 50- the maximum level- is what to do next. How do you get geared up? What is there to do in endgame? SWTOR is still a new game so there is not a lot of advice or “common knowledge” in the gaming community yet about what to do. In fact, many players are leveling to the cap and then stopping because they don’t know what to do next or there are not enough people playing to do anything with. But you can bet that as the game has been out longer and more and more players get into it and reach the level cap, there will be more gamers to play with. So you can start right now getting geared up so you’re ready to go and you will be a few steps ahead of others, giving you an…
Republic has Better Color Crystals than Empire
There have been several accusations of bias on the part of BioWare in SWTOR. Some were said in jest but others seem to have some real backing to them. Could there be a legitimate case of favoritism towards one side? While BioWare insists that this is not the case and that they created the game with balance to both sides, here is some evidence that Republic has better color crystals than the Empire for lightsabers. This is actually the case for several weapons, especially if they have the same name for both sides. Here we can see that Empire players get the Q48 crystal but Republic side gets the Q56 crystal. There are other instances of this in the game. What gives, BioWare? Do you feel like the Republic has better color crystals in the game? What about just better gear/weapons overall? Are there any other cases where you think…

Everything you ever need to know about Itemization and Crafting in TOR
Dssurge from reddit urged us to share this TOR Itemization and Crafting info. The original thread can be found here, and has some additional information in the comments section. Here is a run down of Itemization and Crafting in TOR Basic stuff: All characters in TOR use one primary stat of Aim, Cunning, Strength or Willpower. All primary stats give 1% crit for every 140 (at level 50) Aim gives 0.2 ranged damage Strength gives 0.2 melee damage Cunning gives 0.2 tech damage Will power gives 0.2 force damage Endurance gives 10 HP per point. Your primary stat will always give either [Ranged + Tech] or [Melee + Force], so a Trooper will get a tech bonus from Cunning, and a Smuggler will get a ranged damage bonus from Aim in addition to the bonuses they already get from their primary stat. This causes Smugglers to do more damage with Weapon attacks,…
