Now the SWTOR beta has officially come to an end and we are all awaiting the December 20th launch that is just a couple more weeks away. While some were able to game test for an extended period of time, others were at least given a weekend to check it out and the reaction from the community of testers was mostly positive. Nearly everyone who tested and was surveyed said they would recommend the game to a friend. In honor of the end of beta and the upcoming launch of SWTOR, we are asking you all to share with us your favorite moments or experiences of beta testing- no matter how long or short your experience was. Did you play with friends or solo explore? Did you rush to level as quickly as you could or take your time to experience all of the story line? Did you try different…

Beta Weekend for Everyone! What?
Notifications were zooming in to me from friends, family, Tweeters and more that they have all received notifications for SWTOR beta weekend THIS weekend. No one seemed to know what was going on. Was it real? Was it another mistake? Then SWTOR/BioWare posted this on their news page: When we started our Beta Testing Weekends, we told you that each weekend would include more testers than the last. We’re excited to announce that later this month we will be conducting our largest Beta Testing Weekend yet, specifically designed to help us stress test our servers in preparation for the launch of Star Wars™: The Old Republic™. How can you take part in this coming Beta Test Weekend? Well, for starters we are happy to announce that anyone who has signed up for our Game Testing Program prior to today, November 11th, will get invited! Invites will be sent in the…
EU Beta Invites Are Sent
Have you been meticulously refreshing your email inbox today hoping for a beta invite for SWTOR? If you haven’t gotten one yet and you already checked your spam folder, then unfortunately, you probably didn’t get in right now. Great news for European players though! European game invites have been sent out in a batch for a selection of players to start testing SWTOR. North American players got another batch of weekend test emails but for some lucky Europeans, it’s more than a weekend test and an actual game testing invite. Access to the general beta test means you get to see what the game is all about before it is released to the general public in December. Game testing characters do not carry over into the live game and there is no guarantee on how long you will get to test but it’s sure exciting news if you did get…
SWTOR Game Testing Halted- New Build Development in Progress
Big changes are happening in SWTOR game testing from what we hear. This is expected as we grow closer to the eventual launch of Star Wars: The Old Republic. We are down to less than two months before the December 20th worldwide launch and fans are growing more anxious than ever. If you’re part of the current game testing group, you might be even more anxious than usual, since you cannot play right now. All game testers had to uninstall the game last night and servers go down for an indefinite amount of time. They are pulling this beta test block down and installing the new block over the weekend (and until who-knows-when). They have not told any game testers how long it will take or what changes will take place. They asked all game testers to uninstall the game and all content and wait for word (via the forums)…
Tips, tricks and knowledge from SWTOR Beta
With more people playing SWTOR beta and game testing now, we are seeing more info coming out about it. While these players are still bound to the NDA, it is to be expected that some general knowledge will come out about the game. The closer we get to December release, the more info will come out to the public. On Reddit we are finding several posts started by users looking to share tips and tricks and other knowledge. Here is a snippet from one post, for example: Vehicle training costs 40 000 credits and a vehicle costs 4 000. Have at least that much by the time you hit 25. Companion weapons are upgradeable with mods, do not vendor them! You can only have one crafting skill but can have 2 gathering (may require confirmation). When in doubt, follow your class quests. More often than not your story quests will…
All SWTOR beta invites have gone out
Stephen Reid tweeted this announcement today, “All invites for SWTOR Beta Testing Weekend 2 have now been sent.” He added that further info could be found on the official forums. The announcement has brought about mixed emotions. There are many who are disappointed as they didn’t get an invite to beta testing and this news seems to mean that they will not get their chance- at least not now. While we are counting down the weeks until the game’s official release, many people are hoping to get to play that week of beta. With Weekend 2 invites out, many people are flocking to the boards hoping to find new information released by weekend 1 players. It’s currently unclear whether or not there will be future weekends of beta play testing available or how many more, if any, players will get to experience the game before December. Reid previously announced that…
More beta testing weekends upcoming
If you haven’t had a chance to beta test SWTOR yet, you will be happy about the news posted on the official SWTOR website today. There are more beta weekends coming for October. The news post explains: “Beta Testing Weekends for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ began earlier this month and during our first weekend, we invited more players into testing than we’ve ever invited before in a single weekend! Now we’re getting ready for another Beta Testing Weekend, starting on October 7th and finishing on October 10th. With increased invite numbers from the first weekend, even more of you will get to play The Old Republic.” It also says not to worry if you still don’t get in this batch because more testing opportunities will be coming before the launch of the game. So there are still a couple of months left to have an opportunity for game testing…
French and German SWTOR Testing Is Now in Action
It is now official- the remaining launch locations for SWTOR are now getting in on the game testing action. As of today, the official SWTOR_FR and SWTOR_DE twitter accounts, a batch of invitations have been sent out to those users who have applied for the beta. This means if you live in these zones and applied to be considered for the beta testing phases of SWTOR, you might have gotten or will be getting your beta invite soon. According to Lars Malcharek, further invitations to EU game testing will be sent out to German and French speaking players only. He also said, “In the coming weeks we will invite more players to the testing.” This is great news for the people who are waiting and hoping to get an invite. This news also means that SWTOR is yet another step closer to finally reaching launch. While they have already said…
Don’t be Banned from Game Testing- Know the Rules of Beta
As more people are getting into game testing now and game testing is open to European players as well, we will hear about more people in game testing. While it is a violation to screen capture or talk about certain aspects of the game, there will probably be friends who talk and share certain pieces of info. But you better be careful about what you share and how. If you get in, you may find yourself so excited, you want to shout it to the rooftops. Be aware, however, that while you can tell the world you are game testing, you cannot tell them about what you are doing in testing or reveal things about the game itself. The SWTOR beta/game testing is the most strict I have ever even heard of and I have beta’d TONS of games over the years. You can’t use Vent, you must be 18…
