The Correct Way to Give Out Unique Codes for SWTOR

If you have unique codes for SWTOR that you want to give out to others, great! You’re a fantastic person and we all appreciate you for it. That said, here is a word of caution: you may not want to post those unique codes openly. If you simply post them on a forum or website, they are most likely going to be bot-mined, which means no real humans are going to get your codes and be able to play an enjoy. Instead, bot accounts will use them for gold farming/selling and other exploits. If you want normal, real people to get the codes, you’re going to have to give them out directly. Does that sound like a lot of work? Well don’t worry because it doesn’t have to be. Here are some ideas for giving out your unique codes for SWTOR: Host a contest and give the winners the codes…

Update on Referral Links

Referral Link spamming have been quite an issue the last few month. People were disguising referral links to get Cartel coins.  I have seen people posting their referral link but make it appear like it was a link to something else, like a SWTOR guide or whatever. People would click on the link thinking they were going somewhere other than becoming that person’s referral.  Pretty annoying stuff, but with today’s server maintenance, they made some changes. Now, when you click on someone’s referral link, it will prompt you with a confirmation dialog before accepting the referral. This was implemented to help stop any potential “griefing” that could occur from folks spamming their referral links. Below is the official announcement from Eric Musco EricMusco Update on Referral Links on the Forums | 02.25.2014, 10:06 AM Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that as a part of today’s maintenance, we made…

New Friends of SWTOR Program Live (New Rewards)

The new and improved “Friends Of SWTOR Program” is now live with great new rewards! Rewards are retroactive even though they said this would not be the case – which is awesome. What is less awesome is the   “within 14 days of signing up” limitation on getting your rewards. Some people referred friends at the launch of the Hutt Cartel expansion but they were unable to play it due to school/work/etc. Now that they’re able to actually play and have the desire to subscribe, I find that I won’t be getting anything for telling them about this game since it’s WAY past 14 days. I guess it’s not too bad though. I’d rather have people to play with than a bunch of droids. Though that speeder would have been nice…   Step 1 – Invite Your Friends As an active Subscriber, you have a personal referral link to send to your friends! Refer…

SWTOR: New mount reveal and continuous free trial

As we told you yesterday, BioWare made some big announcements yesterday. Announcements to show that they are serious about bringing new subscribers to the game and also keeping current SWTOR players happy. The first of the great news is that their Free Trial program no longer has a time limit. It will be a continuous free trial so you can download and play up to level 15 for free for as long as you want. You can play all of the game’s eight classes up to level 15 for free to see what you think of them. This is similar to the perpetual free trials other MMOs offer. Also like other games, there are some restrictions on these free accounts: access to the Galactic Market ability to use in-game chat can’t send and receive mail from players However, they will receive in-game mail such as the messages and rewards sent by…
