Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 5

Chapter 5 “Nien, I know.  Not really thrilled with it but it will take days if not weeks for the Jedi to make up their mind,” Lando said.  The two of them sat on the bridge of the Lady Luck with the door shut.   The flicking light from hyperspace filling the bridge. Nien waved his arms and gestured back to the door.  Lando sighed.  “Look, Nien, they tried to kill us.  You don’t try to kill someone in a business deal unless you are doing something you don’t want to get out.  And don’t tell me you changed your mind about the fact that we both agreed that this wasn’t something we could ignore.”  Nien made a face and gestured again back toward the hatchway.  “We take what we can get, bud.  We are going to head back to Yavin once we see if Takodana has anything for us.”  Nien…

Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within Chapter 4

Scene 4 Saint swept the sidewalk in front of his store.   He leaned against the broom for a moment and watched as the Lady Luck rose into the air, its landing gear retracting into the hull.   It turned and headed almost straight up, growing smaller as it ascended to the heavens.  He walked back into the store, leaning the broom against the door frame.  His dark hands pushed the dreads back from his face and he twisted a copper strip around them to restrain them.  “J12, mind the store,” he said then walked into the back.   An old protocol droid pushed away from the wall. “As you wish sir,” it said and walked behind the counter.   Saint moved down the hall and stepped into a locker room.   He looked in the mirror staring at the older dark skinned human.  He ran a hand through his beard and debated on shaving…

Star Wars: Darkness Rising: The Threat Within – Chapter 2

Chapter 2 Han leaned against the door frame and watched as the Lady Luck glided toward the landing deck.  He straightened up as he noticed several jagged pieces of metal sticking out from under the ship.   “What have you gotten yourself into Lando?” Han muttered.   Lando saw Han watching the ship come down.  “I didn’t expect him to meet me at the landing pad,” Lando said.  The ship dipped a little then leveled out.  “Number two repulsor is shot,” he said.  Nien nodded and sighed.  When the ship touched down, he motioned Lando toward the back saying something to him.  Lando smiled.  “Yeah, you get the easy job, I have to explain this to Han and Leia.”  Han winced as the landing ramp descended with an audible screech of protesting metal.   He watched Lando come down the ramp.  ‘He’s looking old,’ Han thought then laughed.  Lando was only a few…

How gaming can help you in learning essential skills

The gaming industry has mushroomed over the past few years. The trend of gaming is evident from the rise in annual gaming competitions held worldwide. However, if you are a parent and see your child playing games, you might consider it as a waste of time and become berated.  Well, now your child has a valid reason to spend time playing his favorite games. Research has shown that playing video games can help you enhance your skills, e.g. networking, reasoning, problem-solving, self-confidence, flexibility, and the list goes on.   One such study was spearheaded by Matthew Bar, a researcher at the University of Glasgow in Scotland. Matthew recruited 16 university students who had to play eight different video games over a period of eight weeks. A control group was also selected.  Both groups had to fill a questionnaire before and after the study. The survey assessed the students on their adaptability…

Reasons To Check Out OSRIC

For Old School Reference and Index Compilation, the OSRIC RPG is a fantasy role-playing game system. Jolly an assignment help writer says, OSRIC is what is known as a retro-clone in the Old School or OSR (Old School Renaissance) revival, in that it is as legally as possible a faithful copy of the First Edition of the world’s most popular role-playing games, Advanced Dungeons . It’s been a topic on social media recently, and unfortunately not in a good way, because of a kerfuffle about some negative comments by one individual, not formally associated in any way with OSRIC’s authors or creators, about the laudable and evolved decision by Wizards of the Coast, the current creators of Dungeons & Dragons, to promote and encourage inclusion and diversity in the game. It’s an ideal that we should all embrace, and one that I strongly support as a four-decade-long player as correctly…

There are lots of reasons to join Disney’s new streaming platform, Disney+. If you’re not familiar with it, think of it as the Netflix of Disney. It has everything from the classics to new releases, Marvel and Pixar, as well as Disney. But there is one show in particular that has a lot of people- especially Star Wars fans – flocking to the new streaming network. The Mandalorian. It’s a weekly episodic Disney+ original about a lone gunfighter who makes his way through the outer reaches of the galaxy. It has mixed reviews, with Slate saying, “It Looks Great, But So Far It Isn’t” and “has a big budget but little imagination”. Maybe we’re just super hungry for some new Star Wars content but most of the people I’ve talked to so far have enjoyed it. Maybe Slate was just being a bit overly critical… But despite what you think…

Star Wars: Battlefront 2’s The Rise of Skywalker Drops Next Month

Getting a little bored with Star Wars: Battlefront 2 and need a reason to keep playing or take another look at it? Well, December may very well be your best chance to do so. The entire month has been dubbed a “celebration month” by EA DICE and it all kicks off with the addition of The Rise of Skywalker content for SWBF2. The developers have been tight-lipped when it comes to what to actually expect from the Skywalker update, unfortunately. It’s probably safe to assume, however, that we will see the addition of some new maps and possibly a new character or two. This new content update is, of course, due out just before the theatrical release of the new movie – Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The movie will hit theaters on December 20th and is a continuation of the latest series of Star Wars films beginning with…

Star Wars Battlefront Franchise Sales Exceed 33 Million Copies

Despite going through a rough period of consumer upset over including microtransactions (loot boxes, to be specific), Electronic Arts’ Star Wars: Battlefront franchise has performed quite well. On a quarterly earnings call, EA announced that the combined sales of Star Wars Battlefront and its sequel are now over 33 million. The first Battlefront title, released in late 2015 and developed by DICE was a reboot of the shooter series released on PC, Mac, PlayStation 2, and Xbox. The sequel, Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which came out in November of 2017, released with a campaign mode in addition to multiplayer gameplay. Numerous DLC expansions were released for both titles as well as regular updates to each game. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Developer Interview Digs Into Decision of Going the Single-Player Route

A single-player, narrative-based Star Wars title has been a rarity in the gaming industry for the better part of 10 years now. The last true story-drive game within the franchise prior to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II which made its debut in 2008. The announcement of a new single-player title in the Star Wars universe was a surprise on its own. Combine that with the fact that it’s being published by none other than EA and you’d probably think the news were a farce had we not gotten a concrete launch date, trailers, and more at this point. Electronic Arts isn’t exactly known for having a great public image with gamers these days. Plus, they’re notorious for putting out nothing but multiplayer titles riddled with microtransactions (up until Battlefront 2, at least). So, what made EA of all publishers decide to take up…
