SWGOH Update 7-23-2025: Accelerated Characters, Bug Fixes, and Some Very Naughty Datacrons

If you thought the only thing spicy about Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes this summer was the Lightspeed Tokens update—think again. The July 23, 2025 update quietly dropped a pile of bug fixes, character adjustments, and one datacron exploit that might’ve made Captain Han Solo immortal (for, like, two minutes).

Oh, and Quiggold flirted with the Light Side… then immediately bounced. Typical pirate energy.

Let’s break down everything you need to know from the latest patch—including new node placements, character accelerations, and developer notes that read like they were written during a game of sabacc.

What’s New: Hard Node Shuffle and Accelerated Characters

Scorch Joins Dark Side Hard 9-D (with TIE Dagger)

If you’ve been farming Scorch, it’s time to head to Dark Side Hard Node 9-D, where he now resides alongside the TIE Dagger. That’s double trouble in a single sim—use your daily attempts wisely.

Death Trooper (Peridea) Becomes Accelerated

Big win for long-term grinders: Death Trooper (Peridea) is now an accelerated character. That means 2x drops per energy spent—perfect for rounding out your Imperial Remnant or GAC-ready squads.

Bug Fixes and Adjustments: From Omicron Fumbles to Infinite Loops

Wampa’s Omicron Was Doing Too Much

Apparently, Wampa was moonlighting outside of GAC. The devs reined in his Omicron so it now only functions where it’s supposed to—no more illegal roars in inappropriate modes.

Nightsisters and Great Mother Timing Shenanigans

  • Fixed an issue where Great Mother (GM) was granting bonus turns when her entire squad wasn’t made up of Nightsisters.
  • Confirmed: GM’s bonus turn from Frenzy is functioning as intended for her Doom Granted ability.

Crosshair (Scarred) and Counterattack Evasion Bug

Crosshair’s Tier 2 Basic was triggering incorrectly, letting enemies block counterattacks they shouldn’t. That’s now been corrected—so start timing your kills better.

Enfys Nest Got a Clarification (Not a Nerf)

Nest’s Special 1 now has updated text to confirm: Ignore Armor only applies if the target has Buff Immunity. The mechanic hasn’t changed—just the words that describe it.

Ithano’s Profit Bug

Captain Ithano wasn’t applying Critical Chance bonuses properly through his Profit mechanic. He’s been tuned up and is now playing by the rules.

SWGOH July 2025 patch summary with Scorch, Death Trooper, bug fixes

Character Description Fixes: When Lore Meets Grammar

  • Baylan’s description was missing info about Mercenaries dispelling debuffs when feared. Fixed.
  • A dev “just learned E is after D,” so the line now reads: inflict Healing Immunity for 1 turn, which can’t be DISPELLED, EVADED, or resisted. Someone give that dev a holocron.
  • Jedi Master Mace Windu had a Leader ability description that was murkier than the Dathomir swamps. That’s now been clarified.
  • Jedi Vanguard now properly inflicts stacks of Investigation when they’re supposed to. (Max 5, for those counting.)

Datacron Drama: When Infinite Loops Break the Holotable

[Sana’s Datacron + Captain Han = Broken Reality]

Sana’s datacron created an infinite loop with Captain Han Solo, where every time an ally died, Han took a bonus turn and refreshed his cooldowns… forever. That’s been fixed—now Han only gets one bonus turn per defeated ally.

Other Datacron Fixes:

  • Support units were reviving more than once. No longer.
  • Jedi Vanguard datacron only activates if all Vanguards are present.
  • Depa Bilaba’s revive immunity now works as the Omicron intended.

Mercenary Hunter and Hera Syndulla Fixes

  • Hunter (Mercenary) was triggering assists incorrectly when using his basic out of turn. Fixed.
  • General Syndulla’s Unique was improperly persisting after she was defeated. It now deactivates correctly in multi-encounter battles.

Known Issue: Relic Requirements Still a Little Bugged

Players can currently attempt to upgrade a character’s Relic level even if the required star level isn’t met. This is not working as intended, and a client update will roll out Monday to patch this issue.

So if you were trying to sneak a Relic 5 on a 4-star Jawa… nice try. It’s going away.

Pirate Mood Swings: Quiggold Flips Sides (Briefly)

Last and probably least, Quiggold made a guest appearance as a Light Side character… temporarily. He’ll be returning to the Dark Side next week, presumably after remembering how much he hates taxes and Jedi morality.

Conclusion: Bugs Squashed, Profits Adjusted, and Pirates Doing Pirate Things

The July 23, 2025 update wasn’t flashy, but it did some serious behind-the-scenes cleanup. With new accelerated characters, a boatload of bug fixes, and a renewed effort to fix lingering Omicron and Datacron issues, Galaxy of Heroes is in smoother shape heading into the second half of the year.

Just don’t try to build an infinite Han Solo machine again. The devs are watching.
