Star Wars Galaxy of Heroes Update – July 9, 2025

New characters, new fixes, and one clone trooper ready for Cantina duty.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has dropped its July 9, 2025 update, and while it’s not the kind of massive patch that introduces game-changing raids or Galactic Legends, it’s packed with the kind of low-key changes that actually make your life better.

We’re talking shard reworks, pack updates, and a much-needed batch of bug fixes that target some of the more frustrating gameplay issues in recent weeks. Let’s break it down, faction by faction, feature by feature.

Jedi Temple Guard Now in Chromium Packs & Shipments

Everyone’s favorite silent guardian just took a step out of the shadows. Jedi Temple Guard is now available in Chromium Packs and Shipments, meaning you can finally accelerate your path to maxing him out if you missed his initial release.

While not currently tied to a Galactic Legend or major meta team, the Temple Guard’s synergy with Jedi and Guard-based mechanics gives him long-term viability—especially in certain Omicron-heavy Territory Wars setups. If you’ve been holding Chromium currency, this is a solid use case.

Morgan Elsbeth Moves to Accelerated Characters

The Accelerated Character program continues to bless our rosters, this time with Morgan Elsbeth joining the fast lane. Her double drop rate now makes her much easier to level up for anyone pursuing a Nightsister or Dark Side synergy build.

And considering the ripple effects of Morgan’s presence in the Ahsoka TV series, don’t be shocked if she becomes a requirement for future events. Farm accordingly.

Disguised Clone Trooper Now Farmable in Cantina

Get ready to burn that Cantina energy. Disguised Clone Trooper shards are now available on Cantina Battle 4-E, replacing Moff Gideon. No worries though—Gideon’s shards are still safely tucked away on Light Side 2-D Hard, so you won’t lose out if you’re still working on him.

Why is this a big deal? Disguised Clone Trooper (DCT) has become a staple in new clone-based and mixed-faction raid teams. Getting him out of the event-only zone and into Cantina farming is a welcome quality-of-life improvement.

Bug Fix Bonanza – Major Fixes in This Patch

Here’s where things get spicy. This update includes a truckload of bug fixes, many of which directly impact PvP, PvE, and even raid dynamics. Notably:

  • Jedi Temple Guard’s basic ability now works properly even if his Unique is locked.
  • Omega now correctly gains stacks of Target Practice after using Empathy First.
  • Bad Batch units were (accidentally) getting the Tier 7 modifier on every tier—now fixed.
  • Fixed how DCT’s Damage Over Time applied after ability use—this now triggers correctly.
  • Clone Commander Fox now properly removes Execute stacks with No Entry, No Escape.
  • Fixed the incorrect naming of Royal Guard Captain (no more identity crisis).
  • Captain Drogan’s marquee description now accurately states “Unlock Captain Drogan!”
  • Blessed and GM allies can now ignore undispellable Taunt—finally fixing a long-standing AI oversight.
  • Desperate Getaway now resets as it should when used to defeat an enemy with 6 stacks of Purge.
  • Dark Rey’s Datacron bug—which allowed duplicate effects—has been fixed.
  • Jocasta Nu will now properly defeat herself during her Last Gasp move when using rifle form.

Final Thoughts: Not Flashy, But Absolutely Functional

Sometimes, the best patches aren’t the ones that break the meta—they’re the ones that quietly fix it. This July 9, 2025 SWGOH update won’t set Reddit on fire, but it brings meaningful updates to shard farming, bug resolution, and character accessibility.

The real win here? The game just got more stable. More fair. And more playable. And in a live-service mobile title that lives or dies by its consistency, that’s about as good as it gets.
