Bobby Moynihan Teases Possible Return of Jedi Bob in Future Star Wars Project

It looks like Jedi Bob might not be gone from the galaxy just yet.

Actor and comedian Bobby Moynihan has hinted that he could return as the fan-favorite character in a future Star Wars project โ€” and it sounds like even he wants to see the character taken further.

โ€œThere may be some stuff comingโ€ฆโ€

Speaking recently about his time in Star Wars, Moynihan suggested that Jedi Bobโ€™s story may not be finished.

โ€œYeah, there may be some stuff comingโ€ฆ Hopefully that’s not the last we see of Jedi. Live-action Jedi Bob is what I need.โ€

While he didnโ€™t confirm any specific project, the tease was enough to spark speculation that Lucasfilm could have more plans for the character.

From LEGO Joke to Fan-Favorite Jedi

Jedi Bob originally started as something of an inside joke โ€” a generic LEGO Star Wars minifigure from early LEGO sets that fans humorously named โ€œJedi Bob.โ€

Over time, the character grew into a cult favorite within Star Wars fandom thanks to:

  • LEGO Star Wars appearances
  • Expanded media references
  • Fan demand for more appearances
  • His recent voice role portrayal by Moynihan

What began as a simple background minifigure has slowly evolved into a legitimate Star Wars character with surprising staying power.

Could Jedi Bob Appear in Live-Action?

Moynihanโ€™s comment about wanting a live-action Jedi Bob has already fueled plenty of speculation.

With Star Wars continuing to expand across Disney+, animation, and theatrical releases, there are plenty of places where a comedic or cameo appearance could fit:

  • Future LEGO Star Wars specials
  • Animated series
  • Cameos in upcoming shows
  • Even a playful live-action appearance

Nothing official has been confirmed yet, but the door clearly isnโ€™t closed.

A Small Character With a Big Following

Jedi Bob might not be a traditional Star Wars hero, but the character has built a loyal following thanks to humor, nostalgia, and LEGO Star Warsโ€™ influence on the franchise.

If Moynihanโ€™s tease is anything to go by, Lucasfilm may not be finished with him just yet.

And honestlyโ€ฆ
a live-action Jedi Bob cameo would be peak Star Wars chaos in the best possible way.
