There are two kinds of Star Wars: The Old Republic players.
The ones using Double XP to level alts right now, and the ones confidently lying to themselves that they will “probably get around to it later.”
Well, later is getting very small.
SWTOR’s current Double XP Event runs until May 22 at 12:00PM GMT, according to the official May 2026 in-game events schedule from Broadsword. That gives players a final window to push characters, clean up class stories, grind Legacy progress, or finally level that alt they created during a moment of heroic optimism in 2021.
We believe in you. Mostly.
Double XP Is Still the Best Alt Excuse
Double XP in SWTOR is not complicated, which is exactly why it is useful. More XP means faster leveling, quicker class story progress, easier catch-up, and fewer excuses for leaving half your character roster stranded somewhere between “great concept” and “still on Coruscant.”
It is especially handy if you want to revisit class stories, unlock more Legacy perks, prepare characters for Galactic Seasons objectives, or simply get a new build ready without treating leveling like a second job.
And because the event requires nothing special to access, there is no elaborate checklist. Log in. Pick a character. Start moving.
Radical, I know.
Pirate Incursion Is Also Still Running
Double XP is not the only thing happening this week. Pirate Incursion is live on Dantooine until May 19, giving players another reason to jump in before the XP bonus expires.
The event centers on the Nova Blade pirates attacking Dantooine amid the Republic and Empire’s continuing struggle over the planet. Featured rewards include Nova Blade and Dantooine Homesteader armor sets, an Ugnaught companion, a Walker mount, Kath Hound rewards, stronghold decorations, and more.
In other words, if you want to level while also dealing with pirates on a quiet farming world, SWTOR is currently serving a very specific flavor of chaos.
Bounty Contract Week Is Waiting Afterward
Once Double XP wraps, Bounty Contract Week arrives from May 26 to June 2, so the May calendar is not exactly going quiet. But the easy leveling window is the thing players should pay attention to now.
The smart move is simple: use the remaining days to push characters while the bonus is active, then roll into late May with a stronger roster and fewer regrets.
Or ignore it, forget the deadline, and dramatically rediscover your unfinished alts the next time Double XP returns.
That is also a tradition.
The Clock Is Ticking
SWTOR players are excellent at planning. Unfortunately, many of those plans live forever in the phrase “next week.”
This is your reminder that Double XP is not next week’s problem for much longer. It ends May 22 at 12:00PM GMT.
So stop pretending you will level later.
