Disney is giving Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge one of the most dangerous things in collecting: a limited-edition comic set with figures, coins, and a very obvious “this will probably sell out” energy.
As part of its Star Wars Day merchandise push, Disney is releasing five all-new limited-edition Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge comic sets through Disney Store and the Disney Parks. Each set includes a full-size comic book, a sculpted collectible coin, and a Star Wars action figure, with an edition size of 5,500 each. The sets launch May 4, 2026, at 8 a.m. PT on DisneyStore.com and will also be available at Disney Parks.
Batuu Gets the Collector Treatment
The sets are built around characters tied to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, including names like Chewbacca, DJ R-3X, Dok-Ondar, and more. Disney’s official merchandise preview frames the release as part of the wider May the 4th wave, which means these are arriving right in the annual danger zone for Star Wars collectors: new merch, limited numbers, and everyone suddenly pretending they have shelf space.
This is not the first time Disney has connected Galaxy’s Edge merchandise with comic storytelling. Disney Store’s current Galaxy’s Edge collectibles also include items such as the limited-edition Ki-Adi-Mundi lightsaber hilt set, which comes with a special-edition Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge comic and a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Why These Sets Could Move Fast
The obvious hook is the edition size. 5,500 per set is not microscopic, but it is limited enough to make completists pay attention — especially when the line mixes comics, figures, and coins in one package.
The format is smart, too. A comic gives the set a story angle. The figure gives it display appeal. The coin gives it that “premium collectible” feel Disney Parks fans know all too well. It is basically three different collector instincts in one box, which is either clever product design or an ambush.
Probably both.
Galaxy’s Edge Still Has Its Own Pull
The timing also helps. Galaxy’s Edge has been getting renewed attention lately as Disney continues expanding how the land fits into the larger Star Wars timeline, especially at Disneyland. People recently reported that Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge is now opening itself up to characters from across the saga, including Luke, Leia, Han, Vader, Ahsoka, the Mandalorian, and Grogu.
That makes new Batuu-themed collectibles feel less like leftover park merch and more like part of Disney’s broader push to keep Galaxy’s Edge active, flexible, and tied to the full franchise.
For Star Wars gaming readers, this is not a game story — but it sits in the same wider ecosystem of how Disney keeps the galaxy alive between releases, events, and park updates. For the gaming side of that universe, our complete list of all Star Wars games ever made remains the safer rabbit hole. Slightly cheaper, too.
The comic sets launch May 4.
