James Ohlen Twitter Status

There could be more big changes coming to SWTOR as we near the release date in December. We know that the staff is working very hard to get the game in tip-top shape and ready to go for launch. This is why it’s fun to hear posts like this one from James Ohlen about the game. James Ohlen says via Twitter: “Writers finished a major milestone for post release content. We’re going to keep half of the voice actors in Hollywood employed for years.” What do you think it means? BioWare is touting the voice acting as one of the most important parts of their new MMORG and one of the biggest things that sets it apart from other similar games. Ohlen is the Game Director of SW:TOR. He’s also Lead Designer of Baldur’s Gate 1 and 2 (I loved those games), NWN (my husband played this one a lot),…

Interviewing Vette

Being a gamer girl and Star Wars geek myself, I was excited to see this exclusive interview by TORWars with actress Catherine Taber. If you don’t know who she is by looking at her, you’re sure to know her voice. She played Mission Vao in KOTOR the voice of Numa in The Clone Wars, and she’s also the voice of Padme Amidala in The Clone Wars. Now she has a new role and it’s a pretty important one for upcoming Star Wars: The Old Republic. Taber plays Vette, the blue skinned Twi’lek companion character that we have all seen in advertisements and videos for SWTOR. Taber was at SDCC and was kind enough to take the time to give TORWars an exlcusive interview which they have up for the rest of us to enjoy as well. They talk with Taber about the roles she’s played, her voice acting and what…

“…and they told me it’s coming out at Christmas” says SWTOR voice actor Paul Darrow

In an interview with Shadowlocked.com, voice actor Paul Darrow may have leaked information about the release of SWTOR. But don’t start blocking off your schedule for long gaming sessions just yet because I’m not so certain this guy knows much more than the script they handed him to read. In fact, I’m quite certain you (yes, you reading this right now) know more about TOR than this guy. He couldn’t even remember the name of the game: “Actually I’ve just done another one for Lucas, about a month ago. Now what are they calling it…?” Moving along
next Darrow says, “Anyway, I’m a Sith, and they told me it’s coming out at Christmas. I was just doing some tops and tails, because I had recorded it about a year ago. I’m your guide – a Sith warrior.” So there you have it. While Darrow is the first NPC voice heard…

IMDB Lists SWTOR Voice Talent (Look Who’s Talking)

Thanks to The Movie Internet Database (aka IMDB) – the greatest source of film industry information available to hacks like me – we now have some idea of exactly who is lined up to play the voices in Star Wars: The old Republic Employing all of my powers of deduction and film knowledge, I’ve picked out Joseph Gatt as the most recognisable face on the list, since I’ve just seen him blued up and frozen as a Frost Giant in Kenneth Branagh’s spectacular Thor adaptation. But there are some more recognisable talents here, even if you don’t know the names or the faces: names like Jennifer Hale, who is a demi-God of the voice-work universe, and who has also already worked on a number of Star Wars videogame properties including Knights of the Old Republic. Michelle Bonilla does the voices of Huttese Alien / Nautolan Alien / Ortolan Alien /…
