Star Wars: Battlefront allows you to pick three Star Cards before each game. This video will show you how they work.

As you can see from the video, each card has its own unique ability or attack. They have personal shields, jetpacks and more. Players will get to use each card during the battle but it will have limited use or a recharge mechanic. The video shows it all in more detail but the system is somewhat like that in Titanfall’s burn cards. There are other games that have done similar concepts as well.
All in all, it looks like a neat little addition to an FPS. What are your thoughts?
