There’s a new Dark Side scoundrel swaggering onto the Holotables, and his name is Brutus. No, not the Roman backstabber—this one’s a Shistavanen pirate who’s less about betrayal in togas and more about stealing buffs, slicing defenses, and raining scattershot death in Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes.
With a snarling attitude and a toolkit tailor-made for PvP mayhem, Brutus arrives as part of the Order 66 Raid update—but let’s be honest, you’re really here for that juicy synergy with Galactic Legend Pirate King Hondo Ohnaka. Let’s dig into what makes Brutus more than just another angry dog-faced gunner.
Who (or What) Is Brutus?
Brutus is a Dark Side, Scoundrel, Pirate, and Attacker with a mutiny-themed kit that rewards chaos, coordination, and a touch of backstabbing flair. Inspired by the Skeleton Crew series’ deep-cut return of the Shistavanen species (aka the OG “wolfman” from A New Hope), Brutus is designed to be a glass cannon with teeth.
His backstory? After a failed attempt to jack a New Republic vault, Brutus turned on his old captain (Silvo) and embraced his true calling: being the guy who profits when the leader takes a beating. Literally.
Kit Breakdown – Brutus Doesn’t Play Nice
Let’s slice this kit open, ability by ability.
Basic: Blazing Barrage
Double tap with Physical damage and inflict Breach (can’t be resisted). If the target’s already Breached, they gain Speed Up and Brutus gains a stack of Profit.
➡️ Strategy note: This sets up some nasty synergy later when Speed Up gets stolen.
Special 1: Scattershot Storm (CD: 3)
AoE damage for all enemies + deals 1 True Damage to your ally in the Leader slot (can’t defeat them). Brutus gains Offense Up, and if Hondo is your Leader, the whole squad gets Offense Up (undispellable).
➡️ Hits everyone and lightly taps your own leader—just enough to fuel Brutus’ Passive.
Special 2: Threatening Manner (CD: 4)
Debuffs all enemies with Accuracy Down and Crit Chance Down. If Hondo’s leading, Breached enemies get Fear.
Then it gets wild—if Brutus has any buff from a long list, he sacrifices it to steal and redistribute those same buffs from enemies to Pirate allies. If he steals at least two unique buffs, he gets a bonus turn and 2 stacks of Profit.
➡️ If no buffs are available? He gets Ferocity instead. Chaos insurance!
Unique: Mutineer (Zeta + Omicron)
This passive is where Brutus stops being a strong attacker and starts being territory war terror.
- When the Leader (a Dark Side Pirate) takes damage, Brutus gains Defense Penetration (stacking).
- If Hondo is Leader, all allies get Profit when he’s hit.
- If it’s Silvo leading? Brutus steals Silvo’s Profit when he takes damage.
- With Maz or Hondo in the lead, Brutus’ Profit cap is removed.
- Territory Wars effect: Brutus gets Retribution, cooldown reduction, and massive assist chaining at high stacks of Profit.
At 15+ stacks of Profit, Brutus becomes an assist machine. At 20+ stacks, he’s triggering on all Pirate specials.
Why Brutus Works (And When to Use Him)
Brutus is tailored for:
- Territory Wars: His Omicron turns him into a late-fight monster. Once he’s stacked up buffs and Profit, he’s tearing through enemy teams like a blackjack shark at a casino gaming table.
- Hondo synergy: Designed around the Pirate King. Hondo’s unique playstyle finally gets a crew member who genuinely makes him stronger, and vice versa.
- Buff theft: Stealing Speed Up via Threatening Manner is a clever loop that makes his Basic part of a full control setup.
Brutus thrives when:
- He’s not the Leader (he gains more when others take damage).
- He’s surrounded by Pirate allies.
- You can lean into buff-heavy enemies, allowing maximum buff stealing and Profit stacking.
Event Info and Unlock Requirements

A Word About Profit
This isn’t just a flavor mechanic. Profit fuels Brutus’ stacking damage, assists, bonus turns, and passive triggers. You want Profit. You need Profit. And with Hondo or Maz on the field, there’s no limit to how high Brutus can climb.
He’s basically the Esports pro of the Pirate crew—fragile, high skill ceiling, and capable of one-shotting an entire team once he’s rolling. A great fit for players who love fast-paced, gambling-style gameplay loops with big payoff.
TL;DR – Should You Gear Brutus?
✅ You use Hondo? Yes.
✅ You play Territory Wars seriously? Absolutely.
✅ You enjoy kits that reward clever play over brute force? Stack that Profit.
❌ You hate buff/debuff juggling? Maybe skip.
Brutus is a high-skill, high-reward attacker who finally gives Hondo the pirate synergy he’s been missing since release. He’s also an interesting addition for those chasing scoundrel-heavy squads in Grand Arena or Order 66 raid variants.
