Two recent Star Wars games just got a quiet visual lift on PS5 Pro, thanks to Sony’s latest system software update.
Star Wars Outlaws and Star Wars Jedi: Survivor are both benefiting from Sony’s upgraded version of PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution, better known as PSSR. Sony says the updated tech improves image stability, fine-detail clarity, and overall consistency across supported PS5 Pro games. Both Star Wars titles were already using PSSR on PS5 Pro, which is why they now appear to be getting a boost from the newer version.
This Is More Sony Update Than Game Patch
That distinction matters.
This is not really a case of Ubisoft and Respawn suddenly dropping big new content patches for their games. The bigger change is happening at the system level through Sony’s PS5 Pro update, which rolls out broader support for the upgraded PSSR and lets compatible games benefit from the newer upscaling tech. Sony says players can enable it through PS5 Pro settings for supported titles.
So while the headlines around both games make it sound like each one got its own standalone graphics patch, the real story is simpler: Sony improved the tool underneath them.
Why It Matters for These Two Games
For Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, any visual improvement lands in a game that has spent a lot of its life being discussed in the same breath as performance and image-quality talk. Even a small boost in clarity and stability is the kind of thing players notice. Bespin Bulletin specifically framed the game as looking better on PS5 Pro because it already had PSSR support before the latest update arrived.
For Star Wars Outlaws, the value is a little different. Ubisoft’s open-world environments already look strong, but a cleaner image and better fine detail can still make a difference in a game built around wide landscapes, dense scenery, and cinematic lighting. Bespin Bulletin likewise reported that Outlaws is getting a small graphics improvement from the same PS5 Pro update.
A Small Upgrade, But Still a Real One
No, this is not a huge Star Wars gaming bombshell.
But it is still a real update for PS5 Pro players. Sony’s upgraded PSSR is now live, and two of the bigger Star Wars games on the platform appear to be among the titles quietly benefiting from it.
Sometimes the news is a new trailer. Sometimes it is a new expansion. And sometimes it is just the galaxy looking a little sharper than it did last week.
