SWGOH Yoda (Dark Side Vision) Guide: Best Team, Mods, Abilities, and Omicron

Yoda has spent decades warning everyone about the dangers of fear, anger, and the dark side.

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes has responded by turning all three into a playable Sith healer.

Yoda (Dark Side Vision) joins the Era of Myths & Legends as a Dark Side Healer built around Siphon, debuff transfer, constant recovery, and Dark Master’s Training. His kit works with Sith in general, but several major effects specifically require a Sith Gungan in the Leader slot.

In other words, this deeply corrupted version of Yoda has been designed for Darth Jar Jar.

Somewhere, continuity has quietly left the building.

Yoda (Dark Side Vision) at a Glance

Alignment: Dark Side
Role: Healer
Faction: Sith
Best leader: Darth Jar Jar
Primary mechanics: Siphon and Dark Master’s Training
Omicron mode: Territory Battles

Yoda is not simply a traditional healer who waits for the team to become injured. He keeps Sith allies recovering Health and Protection while stripping buffs, transferring debuffs, reducing enemy recovery, and gradually feeding Defense back into the squad.

His natural base Speed is 178, making him relatively quick before mods are applied.

Best Yoda (Dark Side Vision) Team

The intended endgame squad appears to be:

Darth Jar Jar, Yoda (Dark Side Vision), The Ronin, and two additional Sith

The final two positions will depend on testing, available rosters, and whether future Myths & Legends characters expand the faction further.

Why Darth Jar Jar Is Required

Yoda’s kit repeatedly checks whether the character in the Leader slot is both Sith and Gungan. Darth Jar Jar is therefore not merely a useful partner. He is the key that unlocks the complete version of the kit.

With Darth Jar Jar leading:

  • Sith allies gain 100% Health Steal
  • Sith allies gain 50% Max Health
  • Yoda gains 200 Speed when enemies receive bonus Turn Meter
  • Yoda can inflict Demoralized on every enemy
  • several Siphon effects become stronger

Without Darth Jar Jar, Yoda remains a functional Sith healer. With him, the entire machine starts making much less reasonable noises.

Why The Ronin Fits

The Ronin is another major Myths & Legends Sith release and is clearly intended to occupy the same broader Darth Jar Jar squad.

Yoda supplies sustain, protection recovery, buff removal, and defensive scaling. The Ronin brings more direct offensive pressure. Together, they give Darth Jar Jar a core that can survive while gradually dismantling enemy teams.

Possible Additional Sith

Until broader battle data establishes the final lineup, useful candidates may include:

Be careful when removing characters from established teams. Traya, Malak, Talon, and Savage already have important homes, so the technically strongest Yoda squad may not be the most efficient use of your full Grand Arena roster.

How Siphon Works

Yoda gains Siphon from his basic ability and from having allies with Dark Master’s Training.

His Consume, I Will ability uses Siphon to steal Defense from the target. Yoda gains Defense equal to his Siphon percentage while the enemy loses the same amount. This stacks for the rest of the encounter, although it excludes Galactic Legends and raid bosses.

That stolen Defense does not remain entirely selfish.

At the end of Yoda’s turns, every other Sith ally gains 5% of his Defense. The longer he survives and continues Siphoning, the tougher the surrounding squad becomes.

Ability Breakdown

Force Fisticuffs

Yoda’s basic deals Special damage twice and applies Daze for one turn. Every Sith ally also recovers 10% Health and Protection.

When the target is already Dazed and the entire team consists of Sith, Yoda Stuns the target. During his own turn, he also gains 10 Siphon for the remainder of the encounter.

It is an unusually busy basic ability. It damages, controls, heals, builds Siphon, and presumably gives Yoda an opportunity to look extremely unpleasant while hitting someone twice.

Consume, I Will

This Special damages every enemy and restores 25% Health and Protection to all Sith allies.

It then removes debuffs from Yoda’s Sith teammates and places them on Yoda, excluding stackable debuffs. Yoda transfers his collected debuffs to the target enemy, cleanses himself, and Siphons Defense from that target.

This is the centerpiece of his cleansing kit. Instead of simply deleting the team’s problems, Yoda gathers them up and hands them directly to someone else.

Very Sith.

Use it after the enemy has spread significant debuffs across your team, especially when the intended target is already vulnerable to control effects.

Hear Me, You Will

This ability damages all enemies, gives a selected Sith ally Potency Up, places Yoda under Stealth, and gives every ally two stacks of Heal Over Time and Protection Over Time.

The selected Sith ally also receives Dark Master’s Training for the remainder of the battle.

If the entire squad consists of Sith and Darth Jar Jar leads, Yoda inflicts Demoralized on all enemies and gains five Siphon for every ally currently holding Dark Master’s Training.

This should usually be used early. Dark Master’s Training grows more valuable the longer the recipient remains alive and continues taking turns.

Choose an ally who benefits from increased damage and is likely to survive the battle.

Learn the Darkness, You Will

Yoda begins every battle with Dark Master’s Training.

Characters with the effect gain:

  • buff removal whenever they use a Basic
  • unavoidable Buff Disruption when they use a Special
  • 15% Protection recovery for all Sith at the end of their turn
  • 30% stronger Health and Protection recovery
  • 35% reduced damage from out-of-turn attacks
  • Provoke against enemies attacking them out of turn

Dark Master’s Training also provides 50% Critical Damage, Offense, and Defense Penetration, but reduces Tenacity by 20%.

The effect turns selected Sith into more dangerous damage dealers while helping the entire squad recover Protection.

You Are Weak… POWERLESS

Yoda’s second unique gives him 30% Defense.

Whenever a Sith ally receives a debuff, Yoda gains 7% Turn Meter. Debuffed enemies suffer a 30% reduction to Health and Protection recovery, while Yoda distributes stacking Defense to his Sith teammates after each of his turns.

With Darth Jar Jar leading, the squad receives the additional Health Steal and Max Health bonuses, and enemy bonus Turn Meter temporarily sends Yoda’s Speed through the ceiling.

The result is a character designed to punish two common strategies:

  1. enemy teams that constantly gain bonus Turn Meter
  2. enemy teams that repeatedly restore Health and Protection

Best Mods for Yoda (Dark Side Vision)

Because the character is newly released, established player data remains limited. Based on the kit, the safest initial setup is:

Recommended mod sets

  • 4× Speed
  • 2× Defense

A Health set can replace Defense if your available Defense mods have poor Speed secondaries.

Recommended primaries

Arrow: Speed
Triangle: Defense or Health
Cross: Health or Defense
Circle: Protection or Health

Secondary priority

  1. Speed
  2. Defense
  3. Health
  4. Protection
  5. Potency

Speed remains the first priority because Yoda needs turns to spread Dark Master’s Training, cleanse the team, build Siphon, and distribute Defense.

Defense is especially valuable because his kit scales it throughout the battle and shares part of Yoda’s Defense with every other Sith ally.

Potency is useful, but it should not come at the cost of Speed or survivability. Several important effects are either unavoidable or cannot be resisted already.

Ability Upgrade Priority

Prioritize his abilities in this order:

  1. Hear Me, You Will
  2. You Are Weak… POWERLESS
  3. Learn the Darkness, You Will
  4. Consume, I Will
  5. Force Fisticuffs

The Zeta on Hear Me, You Will unlocks the most important Darth Jar Jar synergy, including team-wide Demoralized and additional Siphon.

The Omicron belongs to You Are Weak… POWERLESS, but it should only jump to the top if you are actively investing in Territory Battles.

Is Yoda’s Territory Battles Omicron Worth It?

His Omicron is extremely powerful but limited to Territory Battles.

It grants Sith allies:

  • 200% Max Protection
  • 80 Speed
  • stacking Defense when allies receive debuffs
  • wider distribution of Dark Master’s Training
  • automatic cleansing of Daze and Stun
  • cooldown resets and bonus turns after removing Daze or Stun
  • Damage Immunity when first dropping below 50% Health
  • reduced damage from Percent Health effects
  • protection against enemy revives

That is not a small statistical improvement. It turns the squad into a heavily reinforced Sith bunker with several emergency systems and absolutely no respect for the enemy’s control effects.

Apply it if:

  • your guild prioritizes difficult Territory Battles
  • you plan to build Darth Jar Jar’s complete Sith team
  • you need a reliable Dark Side combat squad
  • your Yoda will reach a useful relic level

Delay it if:

  • Grand Arena is your main priority
  • Darth Jar Jar remains far from your roster
  • your Sith supporting cast is underdeveloped
  • your guild is not pushing demanding Territory Battle content

It is a strong Omicron in its intended mode. It is not automatically the best account-wide investment.

Should You Build Yoda (Dark Side Vision)?

Yes, if you intend to unlock and develop Darth Jar Jar.

Yoda is clearly one of the central pieces of that squad. He supplies healing, Protection recovery, cleansing, debuff transfer, anti-recovery effects, defensive scaling, and the Territory Battles Omicron.

Without Darth Jar Jar, his value becomes less certain. He can still support Sith teams, but many of his strongest bonuses disappear, and established Sith characters already compete for limited roster positions.

This is not Grand Master Yoda with a different coat of paint.

It is a strange, specialized Sith support unit designed to keep Darth Jar Jar’s team alive while stealing Defense, weaponizing debuffs, and becoming absurdly fast whenever the enemy touches the Turn Meter bar.

Fear leads to anger.

Anger leads to hate.

Hate apparently leads to a Territory Battles Omicron.
