Star Wars Zero Company’s $299 Collector’s Edition Comes With a Working Thermal Detonator

Star Wars Zero Company is getting a Collector’s Edition, and Limited Run Games has apparently decided that a SteelBook was not quite enough.

The newly revealed package includes the game, a premium foil-stamped box, a retro jewel case, character cards, patches, pins, a desk mat, and a certificate of authenticity.

It also includes a variant Star Wars Black Series electronic thermal detonator made by Hasbro.

Because nothing says “responsible desktop decoration” quite like a device traditionally used to make entire rooms reconsider their life choices.

The Collector’s Edition was unveiled during San Diego Comic-Con and is priced at $299.99 through Limited Run Games for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Everything Included in the Collector’s Edition

The full package contains:

  • Star Wars Zero Company
  • Deluxe Edition upgrade
  • Premium foil-stamped box
  • SteelBook
  • Retro jewel case
  • Hasbro Black Series electronic thermal detonator
  • Thermal detonator display stand and instructions
  • 31-by-12-inch desk mat
  • Trick pin
  • Zero Company logo pin
  • Character cards
  • Patches
  • Certificate of authenticity

The thermal detonator is clearly the centrepiece. It is a variant of Hasbro’s Black Series electronic prop replica and comes with its own stand, presumably so it can sit beside your monitor and make routine emails feel considerably more urgent.

For everything else currently known about the game, including its Operators, campaign, permadeath system, soundtrack, release date, and recent reveals, our Star Wars Zero Company Complete Guide collects all of our coverage in one place.

The Game Arrives Before the Big Box

One sensible detail is that buyers will not necessarily have to wait for the enormous collector’s package before playing.

Limited Run says console copies will ship ahead of the complete Collector’s Edition, while PC Steam codes and Deluxe Edition upgrade codes will be delivered by email on the game’s official launch date.

That matters because Zero Company launches on August 27, 2026, for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. EA’s standard editions are considerably cheaper, starting at $49.99 on PC and $59.99 on consoles.

So the Collector’s Edition is not exactly the economical way to command a covert Clone Wars squad.

It is the version for people who look at a tactical strategy game and think: “Very nice, but where is the full-sized explosive prop?”

Is It Worth $299?

That depends almost entirely on how badly you want the thermal detonator.

The remaining items are attractive but familiar collector’s-edition material: SteelBook, pins, cards, patches, oversized packaging, and a desk mat large enough to occupy a small command centre.

The detonator is what turns the package from “expensive game box” into “object that will require explaining whenever relatives visit.”

At $299.99, this is clearly aimed at dedicated collectors rather than players who simply want to experience Zero Company. The regular and Deluxe editions provide the actual game for far less, while the Collector’s Edition is built around physical display pieces and one particularly threatening conversation starter.

Still, it is difficult to accuse the package of lacking personality.

Most collector’s editions give you a statue.

Zero Company gives you something Princess Leia once used to negotiate the room rate.
