Faction lore: The Ashiga Clan

The Ashiga: A New Force in the Star Wars Universe

The Star Wars galaxy is vast, with an ever-expanding roster of characters, planets, and, of course, shady criminal syndicates. Enter The Ashiga, one of the latest additions to this underworld, brought to life in the upcoming video game Star Wars Outlaws. So, what’s the deal with The Ashiga? Think of them as the space equivalent of a samurai clan, but with more weapons, less patience, and a penchant for insect-inspired aesthetics. Who Are The Ashiga? The Ashiga Clan is a criminal syndicate based on the icy planet of Kijimi, which some of you might remember from The Rise of Skywalker. Kijimi has always been a hotbed of illegal activity, and The Ashiga have their claws—er, mandibles—firmly entrenched in it all. From smuggling and extortion to sabotage and weapons manufacturing, if it’s shady, The Ashiga are probably involved. At the core of The Ashiga is the Melitto species, an insectoid race…

Confirmed: Faction Change “very, very unlikely” to be Added

There have been a discussion regarding faction change on the official forums, and yesterday Eric Musco had an answer on this matter. Faction changes is “very, very unlikely” to be Added. Personally I I never thought the ability to change factions was something that was in the realm of realistic possibility. I can understand people wanting to change faction but as Eric pretty much states it’s likely never going to happen as the story options tied to each toon makes it impossible. Hey folks, This is a good question! We have been asked this a few times at some of our Cantina Tours as well but I wanted to make sure we had the answer here in the forums for folks to be able to find it. I am remiss to ever say the word never, but I can say that it is very, very unlikely that we would ever…

SWTOR Faction Balance and Population Numerical Data

Here’s some really interesting information about US PvE/RP servers regarding faction balance and population. If you love data (like me), you’re going to appreciate this one. There’s not a lot of current information out about the server population. Which servers are over populated? Which servers are dead? Are you looking to join a server that will have people to play with regularly or do you want a low-pop server where you can just do your own thing? This is valuable information for any gamer and a poster at Reddit has helped us out with some data: That being said, there has being hardly any numerical data on the server population and Imperial/Republic balance. Bioware is unlikely to release this data anytime soon, if ever. I went to 79 PVE/RP servers and created two level 1 characters per server over the span of 3-4 days and recorded the population data for…

SWTOR Stats: Start Choosing Republic- Imbalance in the Force

Uh-oh! It seems there is an imbalance in the force, my friends. Or rather an imbalance in the factions of SWTOR. Over on Taugrim.com, they provide some stats into the game and the faction choices that are being made on PvP servers so far. This is especially interesting to me since my guild is on a PvP server. The overall stats show 137,732 players have gone Empire and only 66,586 have gone Republic. This means that the Empire has 2.1 times the total population. That is a significant difference for sure. This is based on stats from the entire world population. Here is a snippet of the post that discusses this: Let’s take a look at faction and class data mined from the Pre-Launch Guild Program (PLGP): http://swtorprogress.com/members.php. This not a comprehensive set of data, but it is statistically significant set of data: 450k players, or ~30% of the predicted…

Debate: Sith Or Republic- Which Side Will You Choose?

One of the first decisions you’ll make when playing Star Wars: The Old Republic, is whether to choose the Sith civilization or the Galactic Republic. Which one will you choose? Do you have a specific reason for choosing one side over the other? Nearly every player seems to have a preference of which they will play. Many players make a decision based on how each side is portrayed in the sense of good and evil. Some people prefer to be a part of the “good” side, while others prefer the “bad” side. Some people also base it on movie or lore preferences. In SWTOR, the Republic is portrayed as the “good” side while the Sith is portrayed as “evil” but not everyone agrees with this assessment. It’s really a matter of perception and when you take a closer look at both sides, you’ll see a few problems with that interpretation….

Faction lore: The Exchange

The Exchange was a criminal organization active around 4,000 BBY, and possibly the most powerful of its time, that dealt in spice smuggling, extortion, weapon trafficking, slave trading, and bounty hunting. The organization was active on many planets and employed notorious bounty hunters such as Calo Nord. During the First Jedi Purge, they posted a huge bounty on live Jedi, large enough to purchase an entire planet. 300 years later, during the Cold War, the Exchange was engaged in a galaxy spanning crime war with the Hutt Cartel centring on Nar Shaddaa. History The organization was active on many planets and employed notorious bounty hunters such as Calo Nord. Some branch heads included Davik Kang, the crime lord of the planet Taris, Loppak Slusk of Telos IV, and Goto of Nar Shaddaa. The Exchange was an extremely powerful criminal organization that operated throughout much of the Outer Rim Territories. The…
