3 Marvel/Star Wars Crossovers We’d Like To See

Now that Disney owns everything (or at least, Marvel and Star Wars), we’ve already seen a lot of changes for some of our favourite entertainment franchises. The most noteworthy of these changes is of course the forthcoming third Star Wars trilogy. However, we’re also seeing Star Wars spin-off films, new Marvel TV shows, and all kinds of spin-offs, side projects, and novelisations that weren’t around before. What we haven’t seen much of yet is crossovers between Marvel and Star Wars, arguably the two most significant branches of Disney’s modern entertainment empire. So here are a few ideas in that category that we think it would be fun to see, starting with gaming concepts. Fanmade ‘Star Wars’ Oculus Rift Game Trailer

A company named Hammerhead VR has created a trailer for Star Wars VR, a game made for the Oculus Rift. Oculus Rift is a virtual reality headset that is going to change the way we play video games in the future. The trailer was made with the Unreal Engine 4 and it looks great, even though it’s not the most complex footage ever made. The first-person Star Wars experience is really what shines in this cool project. No matter if you are going up against Darth Vader in the carbon freezing chamber or leading the battle on the first Death Star, experiencing the excitement and action of Star Wars in a virtual reality environment would be amazing. The trailer does not show much activity with the characters but it was probably difficult to make the trailer with moving ships and environments while not having to worry about populating the game…

‘Star Wars: Infinity’ to match tone of ‘Episode 7’

The news of Star Wars: Infinity was not much of a surprise to many people in the video gaming world. Disney has a long history of adding relevant new characters to their Infinity franchise and with the release of the new Star Wars film this year, this news didn’t come as a surprise. The journey to creating the new game meant that Disney Interactive had to work closely with Lucasfilm to create something that would please Star Wars fans. Both Lucasfilm and Disney have stated that the collaboration has went smoothly so far but having to find common ground is sometimes difficult. Star Wars: Commander is your next Star Wars game

Disney Interactive just announced Star Wars: Commander, a free-to-play game for mobile devices. The game, which is available for iOS devices, is set between George Lucas’ original two Star Wars movies and follows players from the planet of Tattooine as their careers advance inside whichever group they choose to belong to. The combat strategy game will be familiar to fans of that genre. Players control a commander of either Rebel of Imperial forces and deploy vehicles and troops into battle. The difference, of course, is that “Star Wars: Commander” gives fans the chance to deploy Stormtroopers AT-AT’s, and X-Wings. And characters they’ll meet along the way include Han Solo and Chewbacca (voiced by sound-alikes, not the original cast). “Commander,” which like most new mobile games is free-to-play but includes paid options for players who want to advance more quickly, includes both single player and competitive multi-player options. Patch notes for Galactic Starfighter is up! No nerfs, buffs or balance changes at all to any of the GSF ships. So all stats that were on the PTS last weekend are moving forward with launch. There are too many pirates and ninjas roaming the Interwebs for my liking, so  it makes sense to examine specifically why Jedi Knights pwn both Ninjas and Pirates. 1. Ninjas and Pirates have to at least break a sweat to disarm each other.  A Jedi Knight just has to think it and you’re screwed. 2. Ninjas may use stealth, but Jedi Knights can use the Force to make you freakin’ forget they were even there.  In fact, with just a wave of a Jedi’s hand, you might end up finding yourself rocking back and forth outside a 7-11 while drooling profusely. 3. Do you use macros for SWTOR? Do you want to use them? Do you have questions about whether or not you can use macros and still follow the TOS for the game? Well you are not alone as others have been asking the same questions and we now have some clarification. Phillip_BW (Phillip Holmes, SWTOR Head of Security) came on to the forums to clear up some questions about macros, specifically certain types of macros. It’s just a rumor but some people suspect there might be a new life to the game after all. Cartel Market New Additions The Covert Pilot Suit has been added to the Cartel Market! This adaptive armor can be worn by any class at level 1. General A confirmation dialogue is now displayed for Cartel Coin purchases made outside of the Cartel Market. It shares the same “never show again” option as the confirmation for purchases made directly from the Cartel Market. Attempting to purchase an item or unlock your character already owns or cannot use now displays a more appropriate warning dialogue. Unlike the crystals of other planets, the crystals of Ilum could only produce green and blue lightsaber crystals. History Ilum was first discovered in 22,800 BBY when a Jedi, navigating hyperspace in the Force, felt a strong pull deep from the Unknown Regions. Following the sensation, the scout had found a world rich in Force-strong crystals. The mystique of the discovery added it to the ceremony of lightsaber construction.
