It’s an interesting topic… one we’ve actually mentioned here before but one that we sometimes forget about. Online games have their own lingo. We can break that down even more and say MMORPGs have their own speak and SWTOR has its own that is specific to it. Someone who is very new to the game or new to the work of online gaming would have a hard time knowing what the heck we’re talking about.
In fact, some have said that gamer jargon sounds like a foreign language to the untrained ear. Can you imagine it? All the talk about “trash” and “DPS” and doing “FPs”? People are likely to look at you like you’re crazy. But in the gamer world, we know just what these things mean (or at least most of them). Do you ever think back to when you first started playing a certain game or maybe when you first started online gaming altogether and try to remember what it was like when you didn’t know what all these acronyms and phrases meant? Can you even remember a time that you didn’t know?
