If you’re anything like me, you love taking shortcuts in RPGs, whether that means jumping off ledges or dropping down cliffs. But in Star Wars Outlaws, the fall damage is a bit… well, let’s just say it’s a little too realistic. Even small drops can take a significant chunk out of your health, which can quickly get annoying when you’re low on bacta vials and don’t want to waste them.
Sure, you could adjust your playstyle and carefully descend every hill, but where’s the fun in that? Instead, let me introduce you to a nifty little trick that’ll have you fearlessly leaping from heights once more.
The Tooka Paw Charm: Your New Best Friend
The Tooka Paw minor charm is the answer to your fall damage woes. This handy accessory dramatically reduces fall damage to the point where it’s almost negligible—unless you take a leap of faith off a skyscraper, of course.
How to Get the Tooka Paw Charm
You can snag the Tooka Paw as soon as you hit the first main planet, Toshara. Head to the Typhon’s Rock landmark, which is southwest of Mirogana in The Lost Steppe region or just southeast of Jaunta’s Hope.
Here’s how to reach it:
- Climb the stone wall: Start on the north side of the road nearby.
- Grapple up: Use the grapple point to climb higher, then scale another stone wall.
- Navigate the cliff: Run left around the cliff, climb another rock, and jump the gap where you’ll see bat creatures.
- Cross the gaps: Hop another gap, use a grapple point to descend, and voila! The chest with the Tooka Paw is yours.
More Than Just a Charm
Typhon’s Rock is worth exploring beyond the Tooka Paw. You’ll find Shuma the Rogue Trader, additional chests, and crafting materials. There’s even a hidden area accessible via a windy cave—once you’ve unlocked the ability to break walls with your blaster, that is. Inside, you can find the Ancient Hunter Carving major charm, which boosts adrenaline gains.
Ready to Take the Leap?
With the Tooka Paw equipped, you can get back to throwing caution (and yourself) to the wind. Enjoy the freedom of jumping off every ledge in sight without worrying about the painful consequences. Just remember to keep an eye out for those skyscrapers!
Happy adventuring in Star Wars Outlaws!
