Galactic Seasons are back in Star Wars: The Old Republic with a fresh twist, and Season 9—aptly named “Flashpoint Resurgence”—is setting up to be one of the most action-packed yet. With a strong focus on Flashpoints, quality-of-life updates, and a truckload of thematic rewards, there’s plenty to be excited about when Update 7.7.1 drops on August 19, 2025.
Let’s take a deep dive into everything this new season offers—whether you’re a grizzled bounty hunter, a Jedi librarian, or a casual cartel coin collector.
Weekly Objectives: Flashpoint Central
Flashpoints are the main stars of Galactic Season 9. The weekly objectives are designed to encourage players to dive into specific Flashpoints using the revamped Activity Finder, which now features a special “Flashpoint Resurgence” queue. Each week will rotate 1-2 featured Flashpoints that align with Galactic Season objectives, so you won’t have to guess where to grind.
Experimental Combat Enhancers: Kai Zykken’s Back at It Again
That rogue-ish techno-salesman Kai Zykken is back, offering experimental adrenal boosts developed by Czerka Corporation. These buffs offer flashy new effects when used inside Flashpoints:
- Experimental Repulsor Field: Gain a new ability bar to yeet enemies into one another.
- Projectile Probes: Floating droids that shoot stuff—classic.
- Destruction Overload: Every 5th kill creates an AOE explosion.
- Czerka Combat Drones: More droids, more firepower.
- Unstable Radiation Field: A devastating point-blank AOE blast.
You can earn these enhancers through the Galactic Season reward tracks or pick them up from Ki’at Thavo’s shop.
Activity Finder Overhaul
Some welcome updates are coming to the Activity Finder:
- Choose roles from both of your Combat Styles.
- See your assigned role when the queue pops.
- Change Combat Styles while in queue (though not Loadouts).
And the cherry on top? Cutscenes are automatically skipped in Veteran and Master Flashpoints when queued via the Activity Finder. Say goodbye to the spacebar smash-fest. Note: This does mean random Light/Dark side alignment choices and no alignment points earned.
