Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes April 1 Update Fixes a Long List of Bugs — But Two New Investigations Are Already Underway

SWGOH’s April 1 update was busy for all the right and wrong reasons

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes had a surprisingly packed April 1, 2026. On paper, the day’s official update looked like a standard maintenance-style cleanup: one character became farmable, another moved into the Accelerated pool, and a long list of bug fixes and description corrections rolled out across the game. But the bigger story is what happened alongside it.

Within hours of that update post, Capital Games also confirmed it is investigating two separate issues: one tied to the Power for Hire Datacron set, and another involving Satele Shan interacting with Galactic Legend Rey in a way that is causing both characters to overperform. In other words, yes, things got fixed — but the live game still has some very active fire alarms going off.

The immediate wins: farmable shards, acceleration, and a pile of fixes

The headline progression changes are straightforward. Asajj Ventress (Dark Disciple) is now farmable from Dark Side Battles (Hard) 9-B, while CC-1119 “Appo” has officially joined the list of Accelerated Characters.

For players chasing shards, that is the kind of update that is never flashy, but always appreciated.

The bug-fix list is where the post really starts to sprawl. Capital Games addressed issues involving Jedi Knight Cal Kestis’ Datacron Tier 9 description, Kyle Katarn’s Tier 9 description, grammar problems tied to Vane Affix, and a gameplay inconsistency where PvE Imperial Stormtroopers now properly count as Imperial Troopers again. The update also corrected the wording around Tusken Momentum gain from “Centuries of Tradition” so that the description now matches how the mechanic actually works in-game.

There were also more meaningful gameplay-side fixes. Characters with Bounty Hunter’s Resolve should no longer be able to target enemies with undispellable stealth, Zuckuss should stop gaining incorrect turn meter from enemies with Foresight at the start of battle, and Dedra’s character quest for applying Undermine 40 times should now correctly progress when using Kleya or Dedra. Vel’s Undermine Omicron was also fixed, as was Padawan Sabine’s stun immunity in Baylan’s event.

On top of that, Krennic will now summon Death Trooper with maxed ability levels if his own relevant abilities are maxed, rather than summoning a weaker base-level version.

Not everything is fixed yet

The same official update also made clear that a few issues are still hanging around. The Cassian Andor (Undercover) Portrait and the Just a Tourist title can apparently be earned from their event, but they still cannot be equipped. Capital Games says a fix is in the works.

The post also notes that Fragmented and Incomplete Signal Data are currently inaccurate in the store, which is the sort of bug that tends to get player attention very quickly once gear and store value are involved.

There is also one small but notable line in the post that players will want to remember: a refund of materials will be issued in the near future related to Cody FDC description/functionality adjustments. No exact timing was given there, so this looks more like a “watch your inbox” situation than an immediate payout.

Datacron trouble and a Satele/Rey balance concern now take center stage

If the patch notes were the cleanup, the two follow-up investigation posts were the real warning lights.

The first says the team is investigating reports of issues with the Power for Hire Datacron set. That post is brief and doesn’t yet spell out the exact failure point, which usually means CG is still confirming scope before saying too much publicly.

The second is more specific, and arguably more important for competitive players: the team says it is investigating reports that Satele interacting with GL Rey is causing those characters to overperform. That wording matters. It does not read like a cosmetic bug or a text mismatch. It reads like a live balance issue with real gameplay consequences, especially in modes where squeezing extra performance out of top-end units can flip matchups fast.

The bigger picture

Taken together, these three posts tell a very SWGOH kind of story. The game got a useful quality-of-life update, some overdue cleanup, and a couple of welcome progression boosts. At the same time, two fresh investigations suggest the meta and systems side of the game is still moving a little faster than the stability team would probably like.

That does not make this a disaster patch. But it does make it a very live-service patch: one hand hands out farmability and bug fixes, the other hand is already writing “we’re investigating” posts before the dust has settled. For Galaxy of Heroes players, that is not exactly unfamiliar territory.
