Grogu has already conquered toys, memes, Disney+ thumbnails, lunchboxes, plush shelves, and the emotional stability of anyone with functioning eyes.
Now he is coming for London’s café scene.
Disney UK has announced a limited-time Grogu Café pop-up in Shoreditch, opening from Friday, May 15 to Sunday, May 17, ahead of the cinema release of Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu on May 22, 2026. According to the official Disney UK press release, the pop-up will feature Grogu-inspired food, drinks, themed décor, photo moments, and merchandise.
So yes, Star Wars has reached the “adorable alien matcha activation” phase. Honestly, it was only a matter of time.
The Cutest Outpost in the Galaxy
The café will be located at 1 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch, London, E2 8AA, with DisneyTickets describing it as a “matcha-fuelled experience” built around Grogu’s charm. Entry is free but ticketed, with food, drink, and products available to purchase on-site via the official Grogu Café ticket page.
The bad news? Tickets are currently listed as reserved, though Disney says a limited number of same-day tickets will be released from 9am each event day. In other words: if you want Grogu snacks, prepare for the same emotional journey as trying to buy Star Wars Celebration tickets, only with more foam art.
Matcha, Desserts, Bubble Tea, and Merch
The menu is being built with help from PerfectTed, Bread Ahead, and Bubble CiTea, which means guests can expect signature matcha blends, cosmic desserts, themed treats, and sweet drinks designed for maximum camera-roll damage.
There will also be a MINISO retail installation selling Star Wars and Grogu-inspired blind boxes, accessories, and plushies. Because if there is one thing Grogu understands, it is the ancient Force technique of making adults buy cute objects they absolutely claim are “for the shelf.”
Disney also notes that the experience is not recommended for children under 16, under-18s must be accompanied by an adult, and Grogu himself will not be appearing for a meet-and-greet. So no, you cannot hand him a tiny cup of matcha and ask him to bless your Instagram story.
Disney Knows Exactly What It Is Doing
This pop-up is small, but the strategy is obvious.
The Mandalorian and Grogu is the next major Star Wars theatrical release, and Disney is building hype in a way that reaches beyond trailers and posters. A Grogu Café is not lore-heavy. It is not a panel reveal. It is not a deep dive into Imperial remnant politics.
It is a cute, shareable, real-world Star Wars moment designed to travel through social feeds faster than a bounty hunter with good Wi-Fi.
That fits neatly into the wider promotional push around the film, which we have already covered through stories like Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni discussing the future of the MandoVerse. Grogu remains the franchise’s most reliable tiny marketing engine, and this café proves Disney knows it.
The Grogu Economy Remains Undefeated
Is a three-day themed café going to change the future of Star Wars? No.
Is it extremely clickable, very cute, lightly ridiculous, and probably going to flood UK fan feeds with green drinks and plushies? Absolutely.
Grogu has survived Jedi training, bounty hunters, Imperial labs, space battles, and Mandalorian parenting. London matcha culture should be manageable.
