Normally, a StarWars.com quiz asking whether a line or clue belongs to Yoda or Grogu would just be cute franchise fluff.
This week, it lands a little differently.
The official site has released a new “Quiz: Is it Yoda or Grogu?”, challenging fans to tell the difference between the two small green Force legends. The setup is light, simple, and very on-brand: Yoda and Grogu may look similar and share certain traits, but each has a personality of his own.
That is true.
It is also hard not to think about Tom Kane while reading it.
Yoda’s Voice Still Echoes
Kane, who sadly passed away at 64, gave animated Yoda one of his most familiar modern voices. For many Star Wars fans, especially those raised on The Clone Wars, his performance became part of how Yoda sounded outside the films.
That matters because Yoda is not just a character design. He is a rhythm. A warmth. A strange little storm cloud of wisdom, mischief, grammar crimes, and emotional damage delivered in soft tones.

That is what makes the Yoda/Grogu comparison interesting.
At first, Grogu worked because he reminded everyone of Yoda without being Yoda. Same species. Same mystery. Same powerful Force energy wrapped in tiny chaos.
But now the story needs him to become something else.
A Tiny Quiz With Bigger Timing
No, this quiz is not a major lore drop. Nobody should be building a whiteboard around it.
But timing gives simple things extra weight.
After Kane’s passing, anything that points fans back toward Yoda carries a little more emotional gravity. And with Grogu stepping into his own future on the big screen, the contrast between the two characters feels sharper than it did when everyone was still calling him Baby Yoda and buying every plush in sight.
Yoda represents legacy, wisdom, and one of the most iconic voices in Star Wars history.
Grogu represents the next strange branch of that mystery, still growing, still choosing, still occasionally behaving like a Force-powered toddler with no respect for cockpit safety.
So yes, take the quiz. Smile at the similarities. Argue with the answers if necessary.
But this week, the question “Yoda or Grogu?” is not just a cute little game.
It is also a reminder that Star Wars keeps moving forward while its old voices continue to echo.
