Two internet memes collide in a galaxy far far away this week, as Star Wars and Gotye are crammed into one spoof. If that sounds crude, it actually works surprisingly well, with some pointed swipes at the Star Wars prequels and a George Lucas-alike who sings about “all the times I screwed fans over””. The Force is strong with this one, just don’t expect this to be released on Blu-ray any time soon.

MTSBWY: Darth Schwarzenegger
With all the sad news of BioWare Layoffs I thought it was time for a smile. Therefor I present to you a new “may the schwartz be with you”, this time with oldie but goodie. What you are about to see, is an earlier casting of Star Wars IV: A New Hope were Arnold Schwarzenegger put a juvenile, jealous and rather perverted spin on Darth Vader’s explosive personality. George Lucas had second thoughts and cast James Earl Jones instead. Enjoy these exclusive clips from the “lost tapes” archives of Skywalker Ranch. You kids are soft… You lack deciplin! ” it’s time now to turn this mush into muscles! STOP Being such a pussy NAOW!
MTSBWY: What If Yoda Spoke Normally?
The ‘Star Wars’ universe is riddle with mysteries. Did Han shoot first? How come Chewbacca doesn’t get a medal at the end of ‘A New Hope?’ And how come Yoda insists on speaking in semi-reverse order? It’s hard not to see master Yoda as a very short font of wisdom throughout the Star Wars films, but when his unique speech pattern is made to fit traditional rules, suddenly he becomes one seriously creepy little dude. Vimeo user MechaStewart shows us in the video below:

May the Schwartz Be with You: BioWare Had it Right with Animation Delay
Many have been complaining about the animation delay in SWTOR. Many gamers today are looking for a realistic experience. However, it seems like BioWare had it right in the first place when it comes to the animation delay. Check out this video and you will know exactly what we’re talking about. This critique of the fight scenes is pretty much spot on.

Zombie Star Wars Cosplay
This photo was taken on February 18, 2012 using a Nikon Coolpix S205. Who would survive a zombie apocalypse in a galaxy far, far away? These two might have some answers. Vill4no grabbed this awesome photo of zombie Star Wars cosplayers at Megacon 2012. This looked to be an awesome event and while this isn’t the only great photo he got, it was by far by favorite. In fact, it’s my favorite Star Wars cosplay yet! Check out his full photostream on Flickr for more great pics from the event- including more Star Wars (The Emperor, droids, dark side R2, jawas), Link, Drunk Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman, Punisher, Batgirl and many more.
May the schwartz be with you: 2012 Volkswagen Game Day Commercial
It’s been 12 days since Volkswagen unleashed “The Bark Side” and started building up anticipation for the sequel to last year’s beloved “The Force” commercial. With four days to spare until Super Bowl XLVI, the car company has released an extended version of “The Dog Strikes Back.” It’s one of three 30-second VW ads that will air on game day and features not only an adorably chubby pooch but also a final-act twist worthy of “I am your father!” Watch below.
What Do Storm Troopers Do When Not at Work?
The life of a Storm Trooper must be tough. Have you ever wondered what they do when they get a day off? What about spending time with the family, celebrating the holidays or even doing the laundry? Yes, Storm Troopers are people , too and one photographer has captured so many beautiful life moments of Storm Troopers just well… doing what they do. Sometimes they hang out with their children. Sometimes they play in the snow. They even fight in protest against SOPA and PIPA. Kristina Alexanderson, Storm Trooper photographer catches them in their weakest moments, their strongest moments and everything in between. She shows us what it is really like to live the life of a Storm Trooper. Some of what you see may shock you, some may inspire you but all will impress you. May the schwartz be with you: Return of the Jedi – Missing Elevator Scene
Footage of Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader in the elevator on the way to the Emperor’s throne room. Vader: So… What happened after you left Bespin? Luke: What happened? I was without a right hand for 5 hours. What kind of a father cuts off his son’s writing hand? Vader: This is Star Wars, Luke. Nobody writes anything in this universe. The only writing I ever see is that Aurebesh junk on Coruscant. Luke: Dad, what are you saying? Vader: I never learned to read, dumbass.
May the schwartz be with you: Volkswagen’s ‘Star Wars’ Ad Campaign Has Gone to the Dogs
Coming off of last year’s wildly successful Star Wars themed Passat Super Bowl commercial, Volkswagen is out to continue that success once again. Ahead of the big game on February 5th, the automaker has just released this new teaser featuring another bit of Star Wars reference, only this time it features dogs and not a nine-year-old kid.You have to listen carefully (we had to listen twice to pick up on it), but the canine chorus is barking a very familiar tune. VW claims that the commercial will all make sense come game day. Until then, the teaser is a great laugh and we’ll see if this intergalactic canine bark fest can beat out last year’s fantastic young Darth Vader commercial.
May the schwartz be with you: Hitler Vs Vader: The Rap Battle Rematch
Just over a year ago, we brought you the greatest Rap Battle face-off since B-Rabbit faced those other ridiculously named made-up rappers in 8 Mile, as the two darkest Dark Lords faced over across a mic, spitting ill and questioning each other’s sexual orientation and the moral integrity of one another’s mothers. And now the men behind the first video have returned with a second season of Epic Rap Battles of History, thawing out Adolf Hitler in the process for a tent-pole curtain raising rematch against Darth Vader. It all started with a teaser… And the ERB team have now posted the match-up in full. They said they’d come back bigger and better, and they weren’t lying. Who won? Well, we did. The lyrics are sharper, the style more refined and Hitler has never sounded quite so much like Eminem before, which is a good look for him. But seriously,…
May the schwartz be with you:The SITH that stole Christmas!
This just in from our pal One Minute Galactica, a great video to get you in the Star Wars holiday spirit. From the same guy who brought us What if Those Scanner Guys Were Not Such Wimps, The Worst Couple in the Universe and more, we have an especially fun, seasonal video. If you’d like to learn more about OMG (OneMinuteGalactica), check out this interview we did around this time last year. Now for The SITH that stole Christmas! He has all the tender sweetness of a seasick crocodile.
MTSBWY: Cello Wars (Star Wars Parody) Lightsaber Duel – Steven Sharp Nelson
What happens when you combine the epic saga of Star Wars with the classical elegance of cellos? You get “Cello Wars,” a hilarious and visually stunning parody by The Piano Guys that has taken the internet by storm. This viral video masterfully blends music, humor, and the iconic Star Wars universe, creating a symphony of lightsabers and strings that will leave you both laughing and in awe. The Concept The concept behind “Cello Wars” is simple yet genius: take the universally loved themes of Star Wars and perform them on cellos. But The Piano Guys didn’t stop there. They added a visual twist by transforming the cellos into lightsabers and staging a duel that mirrors the epic battles of the Star Wars films. The result is a perfect blend of classical music and sci-fi spectacle, all wrapped in a package of playful humor. The Music From the opening notes, “Cello…

The British electronics store has gone all out for its Christmas campaign, licensing the cast of Star Wars for a series of ads that get you in the Star Wars holiday spirit. You can see Darth Vader, Chewbacca and R2D2 shopping for gifts, exploring the store, learning new things and even finding potential love. May the schwartz be with you: AC/DC vs Star Wars: A New Hope
We’re kinda surprised no one ever thought to put a montage of Episode IV: A New Hope‘s coolest scenes to an AC/DC song, seeing as how most of the Aussie rockers’ songs are about shooting, or thrilling, or both — and man, remember how Lucas used to do that?? Props to Kalleanka on Youtube for putting together this clever little sequence of events which sum up the first Star Wars movie to AC/DC’s ‘Thunderstruck’, especially since it could have been something really lame like a montage of Darth Vader scenes to “Back in Black.”
I’ve got the Moobs Like Jabba
Maroon 5 have recently been killing it in the charts on both sides of the Atlantic with their homage to the big-lipped prancing lead singer of rock icons The Rolling Stones, and now they’ve been treated to an altogether more heady accolade than the money and fame that comes with being Number One. Because thanks to Break Originals, “Moves Like Jagger” has been given a Star Wars injected make-over, and it’s one of the funniest things I’ve seen and heard recently. The first line tells you everything you need to know about the cover’s awesomeness: “He’s Jabba the Hutt, he’s a gangster, 90 per cent butt…” Profound.
Another Ackbar Potato Discovered!
About a year ago Admirall Ackbar showed himself in a potato. Now this spud resumes. I don’t know if it is a sign, but he shows up around the same time each year, so maby now he deserves his own ship, and maybe some sour cream and chives.
C3PO: Now With Added Jive
According to a newly released video, featuring never-before-seen footage from A New Hope, not all of George Lucas’ heavy-handed edit choices made it onto the Complete Saga blu-ray release that has no doubt burned a sizeable hole in every Star Wars fan’s bank account in the past few weeks. Some, even the Great Bearded One didn’t have the guts to go with. This jaw-dropping video shows how Lucas was toying with the idea of having a “more modern, urban sounding” C-3PO, to add slightly more diversity (and thus an added injection of realism)into Episode IV. What resulted has now become legenday… The dialogue, which adds a whole new level of cool an attitude to c3PO, or C3p-DiddyO as he should perhaps now be called, was written and voiced by Brett Bayonne and published on YouTube thanks to The Distinguished Gentleman.
Stand Up To Cancer’s Star Wars Parody
It might have been around for a while now, but this video from Stand Up To Cancer is both funny and very worth, thanks to its championing of a massively important cause, in the shape of cancer awareness, so it’s still worthy of note now. Featuring the cause’s Celebrity Ambassadors – Aziz Ansari, Zach Galifianakis, Bill Hader, Ed Helms, Ken Jeong, Jaime King, Seth Rogen, Andy Samberg and Emma Stone – along with Star Wars actor, and all round shouty bad-ass Samuel L. Jackson – the video recreates classic Star Wars scenes with a comic spin. My personal favourite moment is Bill Hader’s impression of a Taun Taun. Chillingly realistic… Stand Up To Cancer’s mission statement reads as follows, and needless to say, it is a cause that deserves attention, and as much investment as everyone can spare: Stand Up To Cancer is a new initiative created to accelerate groundbreaking…
Darth Vader Is a Yes Man
Ever noticed how many times Darth Vader says No? Obviously it’s one more time than it used to be, thanks to George Lucas’ broken brain that inspires him to make precisely the opposite creative decisions that everyone wants him to, but even without that edited in addition, it’s a lot. Hardly the most cheerful of fellows, thanks probably to uniform chaffing, Vader has infamously made a name for himself with a fairly closed mind: it’s the Dark Side or nothing for this particular Sith. But now, thanks to the editing skills of the inimitable OneMinuteGalactica (who we love around these parts), Darth has decided to change his ways, and follow in the footsteps of British writer Danny Wallace, and rubber-faced acting talent Jim Carey by saying Yes a lot more. Okay so it’s hugely silly, but I couldn’t help but smile at it.
Return of the Jedi STOLEN!
A blast from the past now, thanks to this clip from British TV news which details a shocking and frankly deplorable case of grand theft. One of the original copies of Return of the Jedi was snatched by cunning street urchin pirate types from a cinema in Hastings, despite ridiculously tight security measures. including having an old lady as the film’s security chief. Shocking. And people say piracy wasn’t rife until people could mass circulate/share pirated goodies on the internet! All moral issues aside, this clip throws up one glorious question: just think, someone somewhere might well be sitting on an original, unedited version of the film. And it might just be the last one in existence. Remember, kids, don’t be a Video Pirate, or you might have someone like Helen “Crazy Eyes” Ganz on your case. And no-one wants that.
Another Star Wars change you didn’t hear about
I thought this was real for longer than I should be willing to admit. If it weren’t for the fast food he was slurping down I would’ve believed it for nearly the entire thing (This is what we’ve come to expect, Lucas! ) But I do think we need another round of prequels that focus on Porkins. There’s a number of books full of short stories about the guys you see in Star Wars for just an instant. The story of the pig-guards in Jaba’s lair, the story of the Jawa who is burning the feet of the droid as R2D2 rolls past, the story of the pilot of Jaba’s boat at the Sarlac pit, all the guys you see for 2 seconds in the bar (including the band), etc etc. All quite really amusing – we need one for Porkins!
