Gamestop/Best Buy SWTOR now sells Cartel Coin Cards

SWTOR Cartel Coin Cards

A few months back, we heard rumors about Gamestop and Best Buy selling Cartel Coin cards in their stores that would also get you an exclusive mount. So what did I do? I ran out to my local Best Buy to check it out. Admittedly, I had something else to go for that night anyway, but this just made me more motivated to get in my car and head down to the shopping center.

So there I am in Best Buy when not one, but two, friendly employees came over and offered to help me but alas, there were no cartel coin cards. In fact, they didn’t even have a clue what I was talking about. That’s because the information was leaked early and they were not available yet.

But these cards were in the works…

And the story is that they are finally live!

But there are a few things to know about these cards.

First, most stores don’t even know that they are selling them. Seriously. They have the advertising up and everything and ask a store employee and they stare at you with that blank look that says I-make-minimum-wage-get-out-of-my-face. But getting a friendly employee to look it up for you will help you uncover they do in fact have them!

Reports from most places (my city included) show that they don’t actually have physical cards, like game cards, but instead it’s all done digitally and when you pay, you get a code on your receipt that you can redeem in the Cartel Market.

How many coins for the card?

2,400 for $19.99. The code will print on the bottom of your receipt.

Sound like a great deal? Well, before you go spending your paycheck on a roll of them, player reports are saying you can only redeem one per account. After redeeming the first code, if you try to put in another, it tells you that you’ve already redeemed. This information doesn’t seem to be advertised so many are reporting buying multiples they were not able to redeem.

What pets?

  • Arctic Manka Lynx (Best Buy)
  • Lobelode (GameStop)
  • Forest Nekarr Cat (EU Retailers)

Pets will be mailed in game to all of your characters.

Have you purchased any cartel coin cards yet? What was your experience?
