The sequel trilogy bromance might not be over just yet—but according to John Boyega, there’s only one place he wants to see Finn and Poe reunite: the cinema.
Speaking at Liverpool Comic Con, Boyega made it clear that while he loves the idea of stepping back into Finn’s boots, there’s a condition attached. A big one.
“Me and Oscar are very stubborn and we believe the bromance should only be on the big screen.”
And honestly? That might be the most Finn-and-Poe statement ever.
The Finn–Poe Bromance: A Highlight of the Sequel Era
If there’s one thing all Star Wars fans can agree on, it’s that Finn and Poe had chemistry—real chemistry. From the moment Poe handed Finn his jacket and said, “It looks good on you,” the fandom collectively lost its mind.
Their dynamic brought levity, charm, and genuine warmth to the sequels. It felt natural. It felt fun. And it felt like something that could have carried an entire side-movie of its own.
So hearing Boyega signal he’s open to returning—especially alongside Oscar Isaac—is the kind of energy fans have been waiting years for.
Why the Big Screen Matters to Boyega and Isaac
Boyega’s comment is more than a playful jab. It’s a stance.
Both he and Oscar Isaac have said before that they’d return to Star Wars under the right circumstances—strong writing, clear direction, and something meaningful for their characters to do.
And for Boyega? Nothing less than a theatrical Star Wars adventure feels worthy of Finn and Poe’s story.
Streaming series? Fun.
Animated shorts? Cool.
But Finn and Poe?
Boyega wants them in a starfighter, on a mission, with a budget, and in Dolby Atmos.
Hard to argue with that.
Could a Finn & Poe Movie Actually Happen?
Right now, Lucasfilm has several films in development—from the New Jedi Order movie to projects from Dave Filoni, Shawn Levy, and others. And while nothing official ties Finn or Poe to any of them, Boyega’s willingness adds a spark that wasn’t there a few years ago.
If Rey is rebuilding the Jedi Order in the post-Episode IX era, there’s absolutely room for:
- Finn, a potential Force-sensitive hero finally fulfilling his destiny
- Poe Dameron, leading the new generation of pilots
- And the galaxy needing both of them more than ever
A reunion? A mission? A full trilogy?
Fan imaginations are already running wild.
The Moment Fans Have Been Waiting For
Boyega’s relationship with Star Wars has had ups and downs, but this latest comment shows something important—he’s not done with the galaxy far, far away.
Not yet.
And when the Finn–Poe bromance returns?
It’ll be loud, fun, and exactly where it belongs:
on the biggest screen in the theater.
