Lucasfilm logo glowing red in the official trailer for Star Wars Maul Shadow Lord

Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord Official Trailer Has Arrived

The official trailer for Star Wars: Maul – Shadow Lord has landed, and Lucasfilm is clearly done playing coy.

The new footage pushes Maul back into full spotlight mode, with revenge, lightsaber combat, and a much clearer sense of where this series is heading. Lucasfilm says the show begins with a two-episode premiere on Disney+ on April 6, 2026, with two episodes releasing weekly through the finale on May the 4th.

The Trailer Makes the Tone Crystal Clear

This is not being sold as a quiet character study.

According to the official trailer coverage, Maul – Shadow Lord is a “pulpy adventure” that follows Maul as he tries to rebuild his criminal syndicate on a world untouched by the Empire. Along the way, he crosses paths with a disillusioned young Jedi Padawan who could become the apprentice he has been looking for.

Maul Is Back in Full Revenge Mode

The biggest takeaway from the trailer is simple: this series looks angry in the best possible way.

StarWars.com highlights lightsaber clashes, Inquisitor fights, and Maul’s relentless push for revenge, including confrontations involving The Crow, also identified as the Eleventh Brother, and Marrok. That gives the series a much more aggressive feel than the earlier teaser, and it makes this look less like a side project and more like one of the biggest animated Star Wars releases of the year.

This Is Where the Real Marketing Push Starts

The arrival of the official trailer is also the clearest sign yet that Lucasfilm has moved Maul – Shadow Lord into full launch mode ahead of its April debut. Fantha Tracks also framed this as the official trailer drop for the Disney+ release on April 6, reinforcing that the rollout has now shifted into its final pre-release phase. This last point is an inference based on the coordinated trailer coverage and release timing.
