Kreia Voice Actor Sara Kestelman Would Return for a KOTOR II Remake

Sara Kestelman, the unmistakable voice behind Kreia in Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic II – The Sith Lords, made what was promoted as her first-ever convention appearance at Festival of the Force in Kent on August 1, 2026.

During the event, Kestelman met fans, signed copies of the game and other memorabilia, and spoke about her most famous gaming role. When asked whether she would return to voice Kreia if KOTOR II were ever remade, she gave an enthusiastic yes.

That does not mean a remake is in development. It does, however, mean that the original voice behind one of Star Wars gaming’s most important characters is willing to return.

Sara Kestelman Is Ready to Return as Kreia

Kestelman made the comment during her August 1 appearance at Festival of the Force, more than 20 years after The Sith Lords was originally released.

There has been no official announcement from Lucasfilm Games, Obsidian Entertainment, or another studio, and there is no indication that Kestelman has been approached about a new project.

It simply means that the original voice behind Kreia would be willing to return should The Sith Lords ever receive a remake.

For many players, that would be essential.

Improved combat and restored content would be welcome. A version of Peragus that does not immediately test the player’s commitment to finishing the game would also be appreciated.

But Kreia without Sara Kestelman would be much harder to accept.

Kreia Remains the Heart of KOTOR II

Released in 2004, KOTOR II took the heroic foundation of the original game and pushed it into something darker and considerably more philosophical.

Kreia serves as the Jedi Exile’s mentor, critic, manipulator, and permanent source of disappointment. She questions the Jedi, the Sith, the player’s morality, and even the nature of the Force itself.

Kestelman’s performance makes those long conversations work.

Her calm delivery gives Kreia authority without turning her into a conventional villain. She can sound thoughtful, threatening, and deeply unimpressed within the same sentence.

There is a reason she remains central to discussions of the Jedi Exile’s story in KOTOR II.

The Game Still Has an Active Legacy

More than two decades after release, players continue restoring and improving The Sith Lords.

Community projects have repaired cut content, improved compatibility, and updated the game’s visuals. Projects such as the KOTOR II companion texture overhaul show how much effort fans still invest in preserving its characters.

KOTOR II also remains one of the most ambitious games from the golden age of Star Wars gaming between 2000 and 2005.

It is unfinished in places and occasionally awkward, but it is also willing to challenge the basic ideas behind Jedi, Sith, heroism, and the Force.

Kreia is the voice of that challenge.

A Remake Remains Only a Possibility

There is currently no confirmed KOTOR II remake.

The separate remake of the original Knights of the Old Republic has already faced a complicated development history, making a remake of its sequel feel distant.

Still, Kestelman’s willingness to return is welcome news for a community that has spent more than 20 years discussing Kreia, restoring missing content, and replaying a game that never had enough time to become everything it wanted to be.

Should The Sith Lords ever receive another chance, bringing Sara Kestelman back would be the easiest decision in the entire production.
