Actions taken against Credit Sellers and Spammers in SWTOR
Eric Musco just informed the community, that BioWare has taken actions against credit sellers and spammers in SWTOR, by closing several loopholes with the latest patch. Check out the news below: Credit Sellers and Spammers | 10.04.2016, 09:11 AM Hey folks, As you may know from previous posts on the topic, when it comes to credit sellers we will often do a large takedown at one time. This allows us to have the largest impact on the credit sellers without them being able to react. Today was one of those instances. With today’s maintenance we acted on a few different initiatives to help curb the in-game chat and mail spam of credit sellers. Some examples of what was done today include: Banning of thousands of credit selling accounts. Closing a loophole in an existing promotion, that allowed credit sellers to quickly and easily make accounts which could send you in-game mail and…

New SWTOR email offer being sent out – Free month when you subscribe
BioWare are sending out emails to former subscribers, offering a free month if you restart your subscription. People are now speculating that this means that KoTET won’t be released until December. Since they know players aren’t getting anything new until then, this is their “subscriber reward”. The fine print reads: “THIS OFFER IS EXCLUSIVE TO NAMED RECIPIENT. A PURCHASE OF ANY RECURRING SUBSCRIPTION PACK BY OCTOBER 5 2016 AT 11:59PM PDT IS REQUIRED TO RECEIVE BONUS GAMETIME. BONUS GAME TIME AWARDED AT THE END OF THE FIRST PAID MONTH OR PAID SUBSCRIPTION PERIOD OR END OF THE FIRST PAID GAME TIME CARD PERIOD. SWTOR: Is this lack of communication normal?
Eric Musco took on the forums earlier today to address the lack of communication from the SWTOR Developers. Hey folks, I thought this thread was a good opportunity to talk about the communication as of late. Although I may not post every day, I am definitely here, reading the forums. I know that there is frustration right now because you are all eager to learn more about what is coming in Knights of the Eternal Throne. We just aren’t ready to talk about Eternal Throne yet, and so I can’t answer your questions at this time. But, I do want to make sure you know when we will begin really talking about Eternal Throne. That date is October 7th. The day/night of our New York Comic-con Cantina is when you can expect details about Eternal Throne. Once we have crossed the 7th (and through launch), I will be able to…
Obsidian Create Stunning Star Wars Environments
Pillars of Eternity developer Obsidian have a soft spot for Star Wars, or at least some of their artists do, who – reportedly in their spare time – put their skills and the power of the Unreal 4 engine to use, creating some superb Star Wars environments, which aren’t matched details-wise by any of the movies or games of the Star Wars universe. Considering the level of detail and image quality achieved by some of Star Wars: Battlefront’s incarnations, that is quite a statement to make, but it holds true nonetheless. The said environments are rendered in real time and they can actually be downloaded and explored. Obviously though, one does need a powerful computer to do that. Also involved in the project – besides other members of the Obsidian development team – was senior environment artist Jason Lewis, who did not shy away from going into all sorts of…
SWTOR Lead Composer Comments on Datamined KOTET Music
That feeling when you post datamined music and then the composer comes along to comment… yeah, that happened. User Jedipedia posted a 1 hour no-spoiler feed of music from KotET and lead composer Jesse Harlin stopped in for a comment. You can see the full thread with links to the music here. Basically, the data mined music files are just the MIDI demos that were later replaced by an actual live performance. Honestly, those demo files don’t sound half bad and they definitely get us excited for the real thing that is coming soon. As for Harlin’s comment: “Hi, SWTOR. Lead composer Jesse Harlin here. Perhaps I can help to give some context on this for you all. This happened last time with KotFE and now it’s happened again with KotET. Just so that everyone knows, these are the rough demos that eventually turn into the final tracks. We headed to Nashville…

New Way to Design Your SWTOR Stronghold
Players love strongholds and designing them is the best part for many players. Some players have gotten extremely creative with the things they design for their strongholds as well. There are also some really cool, fleshed-out ideas like this one, and there are also some great ideas over here. Barithor has some fun ideas like maps, structure hooks, and more. None of the current features of the strongholds would be taken away or changed for these ideas to be put into place. Here are some great new ideas about designing your stronghold: more decorations decoration hooks structure hooks new hooks to add elements to your stronghold cosmetic items unlock fees more customizations What ideas would you want to see in future strongholds? What features do you want to be able to use in yours? Are there any themes you really would like to have? Are there any limitations you have…
Talking Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Future with BioWare’s Charles Boyd
We’ve been writing to you about SWTOR since years before the game released. We’ve been there with you each step of the way as the game changed and evolved. So what can we expect to see from the future of SWTOR? That’s a very good question and we’re not the only ones asking it. Den of Geek spoke to BioWare’s Charles Boyd about the future of SWTOR, the latest expansion, and what’s next for the game. You should definitely head on over there and read it in full for yourself but here’s a snippet: Will SWTOR‘s future development continue in this chapter-focused story direction? From a writing standpoint, I think the chapter style is really strong, and has led to a significant improvement in the quality and presentation of the story. My own personal perception is that chapters are most fun when “binged” and played together rather than spread out individually,…

SWTOR Flashpoints 101
Are you wondering how Flashpoints work? Are you new to them or have you tried out a few but you are still not sure you know just what you’re doing? This is the perfect time to check out a great tutorial that tells you all you need to know about SWTOR flashpoints. First, they are not heroics but they will be a bit more difficult than your typical mobs. It might require some strategy or moves that you don’t know if you’re new to that Flashpoint, or to flashpoints in general. This is where a great guide can help you fill that learning curve and understand better how to succeed. Here’s a guide from SWTOR_VEGA that covers all the basics for you. He talks about interrupts, crowd control (CC), line of sight (LoS), as well as focusing a target. He also gives some additional tips and tricks that are very helpful. Here’s…
SWTOR Yavin IV Stronghold
It can be a lot of fun to see what other players do with their strongholds. There are so many things you can potentially do that there are no limits to the ideas players have come up with. Some have very clean, Ikea-like layouts and themes. Others go for a more rustic, realistic of the time frame plan. Some people just toss everything they like in there and call it a day. No matter what kind of player you are, you can do your own thing with strongholds and it’s a lot of fun. Bound to legacy upon purchase, strongholds are accessed by anyone in the same legacy, in some cases even characters of the opposite faction. You can also find stronghold listings available for all four planets across all servers. This is a lot of opportunity to do your stronghold just the way you want it and some players…
