Star Wars Galaxies Private Servers Are Suddenly Busy Again

The official Star Wars Galaxies era may be long gone, but the private server scene is having a pretty lively week. Across multiple community-run projects, March has turned into a burst of hotfixes, patch notes, and even player governance updates — a reminder that SWG is still finding new ways to stay alive in 2026.

SWG Infinity Is Deep in Post-Launch Repair Mode

The busiest server right now looks like SWG Infinity, which has posted a rapid string of updates tied to its recent 2.0 rollout. Its patch notes page shows Infinity 2.0.115 through 2.0.120 landing between March 19 and March 24, with fixes touching everything from tutorial flow and invisible NPCs to vehicles, pets, survey tools, crafting tools, crashes, and loot behavior.

That kind of cadence tells its own story. Infinity is clearly still in stabilization mode after a major update, but it is also moving fast. The latest visible patch, 2.0.120, says the loot system was fully restored to pre-JTL values and also fixed an issue where Jedi consciousness XP loss was being multiplied incorrectly. That is the sort of cleanup pass players usually want to see immediately after a big shake-up.

SWG Restoration Is Taking a Different Approach

SWG Restoration looks active too, but in a different way. Its visible March updates point to “Hotfix 1.4.0.1 – Shatterpoint Bug Bash” on March 15, while community posts also highlight “Open Nominations for the Ninth Galactic Senate” on March 10.

That is a smaller headline than Infinity’s patch blitz, but it is still notable. Restoration’s public-facing updates suggest a mix of bug-fixing and community structure rather than pure emergency patching. In other words, while Infinity looks busy putting out fires, Restoration looks like it is balancing maintenance with the kind of player involvement that has long helped private servers stand apart from each other. That comparison is an inference based on the servers’ latest visible update patterns, not a direct statement from either team.

SWG’s Private Server Scene Has Real Momentum

March has turned into a busy stretch for the Star Wars Galaxies private server community. With both fixes and community updates landing across multiple projects, the game’s fan-run ecosystem is proving it still has plenty of life left.
