Star Wars: Zero Company is finally moving again.
After nearly a year of relative quiet, the upcoming turn-based tactics game is back in the spotlight with new promotional artwork and a confirmed wave of hands-on coverage from PC Gamer. Bespin Bulletin reports that the game’s new art appeared alongside news that the May 2026 issue of PC Gamer will feature Zero Company on the cover, complete with interviews and hands-on impressions from the team at Bit Reactor.
That matters because Zero Company has not had much visible momentum lately. The game was officially announced at Star Wars Celebration Japan in April 2025 as a single-player turn-based tactics game from Bit Reactor, developed in collaboration with Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games, and set during the Clone Wars. Since then, updates have been pretty sparse.
A New Look at the Squad
According to Bespin Bulletin, the new cover art shows several familiar and newly highlighted characters, including Clone Trooper Trick, Jedi Padawan Tel-Rea Vokoss, Mandalorian Cly Kullervo, and Umbaran soldier Luco Bronc, along with some previously unseen faces. The artwork also appears to show the team’s den on the Ring of Kafrene and the nearby trading post.
That is a useful reminder of what makes Zero Company interesting in the first place. This is not being pitched as “Star Wars, but just XCOM with clone armor.” Lucasfilm’s official game page describes it as a gritty Clone Wars story led by Hawks, a former Republic officer commanding an unconventional team of professionals for hire from across the galaxy.

PC Gamer Is the Bigger Story
The more important piece, though, is the timing.
PC Gamer has already told subscribers that its new issue includes hands-on impressions and developer interviews, and that wider digital coverage is on the way. Bespin Bulletin says that online coverage is expected to begin this week, after an earlier post listed a different day and was later corrected.
So this is not just a stray piece of concept art turning up online. It looks like the beginning of a proper media push.
Still No Release Date — But 2026 Is Still the Window
There is still no exact release date attached to Star Wars: Zero Company, but the official line has not changed: it is still scheduled for 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
And honestly, that is enough for now.
Because after a long quiet stretch, Zero Company finally feels like a game that is re-entering the conversation instead of just sitting in the “remember that was announced?” pile. The new artwork is nice. The incoming hands-on impressions are the real signal.
