Helldivers 2 has never been shy about sending heavily armored soldiers into hopeless battles where everyone is expendable and friendly fire is practically a squad tradition.
In other words, it was always one clone trooper mod away from becoming the Clone Wars game we still somehow do not have.
That mod has now arrived.
Star Wars: Clone Armory Beta does not simply replace one armor set with a familiar white helmet. It attempts to transform the entire Helldivers 2 armory into clone trooper gear, complete with weapons, backpacks, accessories, supporting soldiers and Republic-themed battlefield details.
This is less “nice cosmetic pack” and more “Kamino has quietly taken over Super Earth’s procurement department.”

Every Helldiver Armor Set Gets the Clone Treatment
Created by thebf333 alongside MrPizza07, Degabait and davidTheGodly, Clone Armory is described as a total conversion of the game’s armor collection.
The mod replaces all player armor with clone trooper designs rather than focusing on one battalion or character. That immediately separates it from the many smaller Helldivers 2 packs built around specific units such as the 332nd Company or a single clone officer.
It also includes armor accessories, replacement backpacks, Republic and Imperial decal swaps, and model changes for SEAF soldiers. The package even brings in more film-accurate DC-15 blasters, allowing the weapons to match the soldiers carrying them.
You can find the full project on Nexus Mods.

It Builds on an Already Ridiculous Star Wars Mod Scene
Clone troopers appearing in Helldivers 2 is not exactly new.
Previous mods have transformed individual armor sets, added battalion markings and replaced background troops. One particularly effective project turned the game’s ordinary SEAF soldiers into Republic clone trooper NPCs, making planetary defenses look considerably more prepared than they usually are.
Players have also replaced the Automatons with a full Separatist droid army.
Combine that with Clone Armory and the crossover becomes alarmingly complete.
Your squad can deploy in Republic armor, fight alongside clone NPCs and face an army of Separatist machines. Add a Venator replacement for the Super Destroyer and there is not much Helldivers 2 left underneath besides the mission structure, explosions and accidental team kills.
Fortunately, those already fit The Clone Wars rather well.

Why Clone Armory Fits Helldivers 2 So Well
Most crossover mods work because they are funny.
This one works because the two games already speak almost the same military language.
Helldivers 2 is built around four-person squads dropping into active war zones, following battlefield orders and calling in overwhelming firepower while being treated as endlessly replaceable infantry.
Clone troopers were literally manufactured for much the same purpose.
The armor also suits the game’s existing visual design. Clone plating does not look wildly out of place beside Super Earth equipment, dropships and industrial military bases. At a glance, the mod can look less like an outside franchise forced into the game and more like an official crossover that somehow escaped Sony’s licensing department.
There is still a slight tonal difference.
The clones served a Republic that was quietly becoming an empire. Helldivers fight for a democracy that stopped being quiet about the empire part several propaganda broadcasts ago.
Close enough.

The Beta Comes With a Memory Warning
Clone Armory is still a beta release, and the scale of the package comes with a cost.
The creators warn that its large collection of high-resolution textures and other assets can use more RAM than a normal cosmetic mod. Performance may vary depending on the selected options, the player’s hardware and any additional mods installed alongside it.
More content, fixes and improvements are still being developed, and players are encouraged to report problems through the mod’s Nexus page.
That warning matters because this is a much larger download than a simple helmet swap. It is trying to replace a substantial portion of the game’s visual equipment library at once.
Your Helldiver may survive the Terminids.
Your available memory could be less fortunate.

A Proper Clone Wars Armory, Finally
Clone Armory is still unfinished, but the ambition is already obvious.
Instead of giving players one recognizable set and calling it a day, the team is building enough clone equipment to make the Republic feel like a genuine faction inside Helldivers 2. The backpacks, weapons, NPC replacements and decals help sell an entire military identity rather than one cosplay loadout.
The mod’s external models come from several artists, including Kralyks, IndustrialWadeandMagic, InterGalacticSupplyYard, grady2104 and forkyforklift. The project also credits members of the wider Helldivers 2 modding community for technical help and assistance repairing the mod when game updates disrupted development.
It remains a free, unofficial fan project with no affiliation to Arrowhead, Sony, Lucasfilm or Disney.
But for players who have spent years wishing for a modern cooperative Clone Wars shooter, it gets disturbingly close.
Just remember the most important rule of clone warfare:
Watch those wrist rockets.
And probably your RAM usage.
