Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes appears to have looked at the entire Star Wars timeline, shrugged, and chosen violence.
A new Myths & Legends era is coming to SWGOH, and the character list is genuinely ridiculous in the best possible way: Darth Jar Jar, Mara Jade Skywalker, The Ronin, Starkiller / Luke Concept, Jaxxon, Stormtrooper Concept, and Yoda, Dark Side Vision.
That is not a normal roster update.
That is a Star Wars fever dream with mods.
Darth Jar Jar Is the Headline, Obviously
Let’s not pretend otherwise.
The second Darth Jar Jar appears in a Galaxy of Heroes announcement, everything else has to wait in line. This is one of the longest-running Star Wars jokes, theories, memes, and “what if George Lucas was secretly cooking?” ideas in the fandom.
And now he is apparently walking into SWGOH like this was always inevitable.
Honestly, for this game? It kind of was.
Galaxy of Heroes has spent years pulling from films, TV, animation, comics, Legends, games, and increasingly strange corners of Star Wars history. Darth Jar Jar feels absurd, but not out of place. This is a mobile RPG where roster logic already left the building years ago and took a shuttle to hyperspace.
Mara Jade Skywalker Is the Legends Bombshell
The other massive name here is Mara Jade Skywalker.
Not just Mara Jade. Not just the Emperor’s Hand version already familiar to many players. This is the Legends version tied to Luke Skywalker, and that makes her a very different kind of addition.
For Legends fans, this is not a deep cut.
This is royalty.
Mara Jade Skywalker brings in decades of Expanded Universe history, old-school novel energy, and the kind of character attachment that makes people suddenly start using phrases like “finally” and “about time” with alarming intensity.
She could easily carry her own article.
And she will.

The Ronin, Jaxxon, and Concept Art Chaos
Then the list gets even stranger.
The Ronin brings Star Wars: Visions energy into the mix, which immediately makes the era feel less traditional and more experimental. That is a good thing. Visions has always been one of the best places for Star Wars to stop worrying about neat continuity boxes and just look cool for a while.
Jaxxon is another kind of chaos entirely.
A green rabbit smuggler from old Star Wars comics showing up in SWGOH is exactly the kind of thing that makes half the community cheer and the other half ask whether someone lost a bet. Either way, people will talk about him.
Then there are the concept characters: Starkiller / Luke Concept and Stormtrooper Concept. These are pulled from the strange alternate-history layer of Star Wars, where early designs and unused ideas become playable roster pieces.
That is very much the point of this era.
Myths.
Legends.
Things that almost were.
Things that probably should not be, but somehow are.
Dark Side Yoda Is Exactly the Kind of Nonsense This Game Needed
And then there is Yoda, Dark Side Vision.
Again, completely normal.
Nothing strange about taking one of the purest Jedi symbols in Star Wars and giving players a dark-side vision version to throw into squad battles.
But this is why the era works as a headline. It is not just another batch of efficient characters designed to plug into obvious teams. It feels like Capital Games is playing with Star Wars as a toy box, not a museum.
That can be risky.
It can also be fun.
And SWGOH could use fun when the grind starts feeling like a second job with worse lighting.
Why Myths & Legends Could Work
The smartest thing about this era is that it does not limit itself to one corner of Star Wars.
It pulls from memes, Legends, anime-inspired storytelling, comic weirdness, concept art, and alternate interpretations of familiar characters. That gives the whole update a different flavor from the usual “here is the next faction puzzle, please prepare your kyrotech offerings.”
It also gives players something to argue about.
Which, let’s be honest, is half the fuel that keeps Galaxy of Heroes running.
For more context on how strange and wide Star Wars gaming has become, our complete list of every Star Wars game ever made remains the safest place to lose an afternoon. And if you have been following recent SWGOH updates, this new era lands not long after Rotta the Hutt entered Galaxy of Heroes, because apparently the roster has fully embraced “sure, why not?” as a design philosophy.
A New Era of Beautiful Nonsense
The Myths & Legends era might end up being brilliant.
It might end up being messy.
It might make squad building deeply annoying for a month.
Probably all three.
But as a concept, it is hard not to respect the swing. Darth Jar Jar, Mara Jade Skywalker, The Ronin, Jaxxon, Dark Side Yoda, and concept-art characters all arriving under one banner is not safe, clean, or boring.
It is weird Star Wars.
And weird Star Wars is usually where the fun starts.
