SWTOR Thoughts on 5.10: The Good, the Bad, and the Eeehhhhhs [Full Spoilers]

SWTOR Game Update 5.10.1 is Now Live on the PTS

Happy new year!Now that that’s out of the way, it’s finally time for me to turn my attention to going over as much of what came with 5.10 as possible. Since this was a fairly major story patch, the most significant we’ve had since 5.0’s nine Eternal Throne chapters, I decided to enact my “one-month spoiler-free” safety window, hence why it’s taken me so long to get around to posting this. Of course, as is the way of things, this ‘safety protocol’ was rendered somewhat nullified as BioWare promptly began churning out full spoilers for the appearance of a certain character on their website and social media channels. SWTOR: Upcoming Maintenance and Fixes

The guys over at Bioware Austine, will be  deploying a patch next Tuesday december 18. to fix the numerous bugs with Patch 5.10. Check out the news: Hey folks, Quick update on the status of our next patch. There are some key issues that were introduced in 5.10 that we want to address next week. The current plan is to have a patch no earlier than next Tuesday, Dec 18th. Look for a post on Monday with a status update on timing. Here are the issues we are tentatively looking to fix (standard disclaimer that this is still subject to change): It is no longer possible for characters to be left with no Main Story Mission after completing “Inflection Point”. “Flesh and Steel” will now track kill progress for the entire Operations group on R8-X8 and Kil’Cik as intended. SWTOR Game Update 5.9.3 moved till next week.

The SWTOR Developers over at BioWare Austin has chosen to delay game update 5.9.3 until October 2, due to game bugs. Hey folks, The team has made the decision to delay the launch of Game Update 5.9.3 to next Tuesday, October 2nd. We have a handful of known issues that we are tracking for the Update which we want to address before it goes live. Unfortunately, we were unable to get them fixed in time for our planned release date tomorrow. Some of the issues we are seeing include: An issue with our Conquest scheduling which will stop it from proceeding as intended. The interface for holocalls not displaying properly. The preview window not activating properly for a variety of item types. In each one of these instances there is a workaround which would not actually block gameplay. SWTOR Utility Changes coming in GU 5.6

Biowares own Eric Musco  has posted a list of the class utility changes coming with SWTOR Game Update 5.6. As we alluded to in the roadmap, we are planning a host of utility changes in Game Update 5.6 coming on 11/28. Servers are back up, and here the patch notes: General Players who completed The Dark vs. Light: Flashpoint Master Achievement prior to Game Update 4.7 now show the Achievement as completed under Dark vs. Light: Legend. Corrected an issue that was preventing players from earning their Classes Act III completion Achievement. This fix also addresses players who have completed all eight Class stories but are missing Legendary Status. Progress towards The Commander Achievement has been granted for players who completed Chapters X – XV prior to Game Update 4.7. SWTOR Game Update 4.4: Known Issues

With a new game update comes new bugs. Here are a list of known issues with game update 4,4: The Collections unlock button does not function within the Collections menu for Fallen Defender’s armor set and the Ginx companion. The description for the Plunderer Pack within the Cartel Market does not list “Weapon Tuning” from the list of available item categories that are drawn from. The source listed on the tooltip pop-up of the inventory icon for the Plundered TC-16 Spewie Display Pedestal decoration is “Alliance Supply Crate” instead of “Cartel Market: Plunderer Pack.” The inventory icon for the Iknayid pet reward from the Eternal Championship does not match the in game pet model. Unavailable Cartel Market items are listed in Collections. With the exception of the first one, these are all issues with the cartelmarket. BioWare took the servers down to fix a few bugs. Here are the patchnotes: Warzones Fixed an issue that caused groups to be unable to queue properly. Resolved an issue that was causing the Ranked Warzone Arena Leaderboards to display Character information incorrectly following a server transfer. Personally I was hoping to see an update to the credit exploit currently roaming. We encourage you to De-list your valuable items from the GTN, and await an Official response from Bioware.

Servers were down for a few hours today, but are now back up. Here are the Patch Notes, for update 4.3a: General Placing a space at the end of a name during Character Creation no longer crashes the game client. It is now possible to use the /ginvite command to invite a character with a space in their name. It is no longer possible to sell any of the HK-55 Weapon Set weapons. Warzones The Warzone Queue has been returned to normal. Right-clicking the Warzone Queue Icon no longer places you into the Unranked Warzone Queue.
