The Guild Sphere: Piratehookers

First of all I would like to apologize for the lack of guild features, but SWTOR has gotten the best of my spare time, but we are back with some new features. This time the guild “Piratehookers” to the time to answer our questions. Piratehookers are located on the server Bondar Crystal – US PvP East Coast and is currently accepting new members who are interested in hardcore radiding.

Where did your guilds name come from?
Piratehookers is the name of our Counterstrike: Source team which competed in ESEA-Main along with various LAN’s and tournaments.

Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentance description of your guild?
Our guild is a semi-serious raiding guild dedicated to clearing endgame PvE content which includes 8 & 16 man operations in nightmare difficulty along with Hardmode flashpoint runs. We will also have fun doing PvP and dailies together. We are still building our raid roster but have high hopes and big goals.

How did your guild come about?.
The Counterstrike team pirate hookers leader (FAPTROCITY) and his friend (Coldone) started played SWTOR early January and convinced myself and his entire CS team to buy it. This snowballed into a lot of my friends and his friends purchasing the game which ended up being all former WoW raiders and competitive CS players. We all rolled the same server and decided to recreate Piratehookers are a SWTOR raiding guild.

What kind of play style do you focus on? PvE, PvP, RP:
We focus on PvE endgame content, specifically operations.

What is your guild set up? How do you run your guild?
We are set up to be a raiding guild with a council making decisions for the guild. Myself and all the officers discuss what needs to be done in terms of guild advertisement, guild recruitment, raiding schedule, loot distribution and everything else that is required. Our guild council is a group of friends that all knew each other before making this guild and should be comfortable in making sure we achieve what we are setting out to do.

How serious do you play and/or run the guild?
I play very seriously and leveled to 50 in 10 days after buying the game. My guild mates and officers are serious when it comes to raiding progression but are laid back beyond that. We play hard when it’s required but have fun the rest of the time.

Do you have ranks or a certain hierarchy in your guild?
We have a Guildmaster (Myself), a council of officers (Faptrocity, Coldone, Bigdickwilly, Sebasaurusrex), core raiders, standard raiders, recruits/applicants, and friends/family.

Why did you choose The Sith Empire?
Honestly we chose Sith empire because that’s what Faptrocity and Coldone picked when they started playing. It worked well since empire is more populated (bigger applicant pool) and attracts more serious
players.

Why do you run a guild?
I’ve raided a lot in WoW and seen what a good guild can do. I find it to be a challenge to try to create a strong guild from the ground up. If you are a strong, smart player you can join a good raiding guild but not everyone can create their own.

How do you approach Raid Planning?
Create a base raid composition, adjust that composition if the fight requires specifics, assign specific people to fight-specific roles, explain the fight and roles to the raid, kill dragons, rinse & repeat.

Are you always open for new recruits or do you want to keep a certain guild size?
Optimally, we want to have a raiding roster of maximum 25 but we will never turn down a strong applicant. If someone believes they can fill a role better than someone else then they are giving that opportunity.

Age Requirement?
No specific requirement. We prefer 17+ and Ventrilo helps judge maturity easily.

Guild size?
15 and growing. We are still recruiting to fill our raid roster while we get our group of friends to max level.

What makes your guild stand out from everyone else? What makes your guild unique?
We want to be serious while having fun. Our goals and aspirations are high but we won’t hinder our enjoyment over it. Also we have the best officer names in the game.

What do you think of the game so far?
It’s buggy and needs to be tuned up but that was honestly expected from a new game of this size. The content seems to be challenging enough to tide us over until the march patch where progression will really start. The PvP needs balance and work. I strongly believe as the game ages it will be refined very nicely.

What Other Games are you currently playing as a guild?
Our CS:S team is still going to be playing in ESEA but that’s it for guild play.

If somebody is interested now how and where can they apply for membership?
Message Brosteppington, Faptrocity, Coldone, or Bigdickwilly ingame on Bondar Crystal. guild website coming once our real raiding begins. Edit new website is up!

One last question, if there was one thing you could ask the Dev’s to include, what would it be?
Arena. Regardless if we are a raiding guild, some ranked PvP would be nice (After balancing the PvP).
