SWTOR is changing. Those of you who have been around with us since the early days will note that it has changed a lot. This is bound to happen in any game that sticks around for years and the longer a game is around, the more it might change.
Sechari of iamsechari.com wrote about this on his blog recently. He’s a big Star Wars fan and writes about his love of Star Wars and Star Wars games, to include Star Wars Galaxies, Knights of the Old Republic and of course, SWTOR. In this post specifically, he tells of how he had to say goodbye to SWG (along with the rest of us) and how he later made his way to SWTOR and got hooked.
But it’s not all fairytale romance, of course. SWTOR has had its ups and downs and in some ways it has and continues still to change direction. If you’re not a hardcore raider and you’re not into PVP, will you enjoy the game the same? For some people, the answer is yes but for some, the answer might be no. The thing is, if you’re looking for negative, you’re probably going to find it. But if you still enjoy the game, your characters, and your time spent with friends, then whose place is it for anyone to try to tell you differently?
It is his summary that speaks to me so well as I echo the same sentiments:
“Yes, I would like to see a return to some of the things I have enjoyed. But if they are no more, I have decided that I will give finding new things to enjoy about SWTOR a fair shot. And, ultimately, if I can find none or if my friends have all moved on, I will move on too. I have done it before.”
What are your thoughts on the current state of SWTOR and the future of the game? Do you still enjoy it in the same way?
