In a recent 30-minute Q&A on LBC with Nick Ferrari, UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak revealed his plans to visit Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disneyland, California. This trip marks his first holiday in four years, and it’s clear that the Prime Minister is looking forward to the adventure.
A Prime Minister’s Vacation
Sunak shared that he and his family are heading to California on August 2nd. The destination holds a special place in his heart as it’s where he met his wife. However, the highlight of the trip for Sunak is the visit to Disneyland, particularly the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge section.
The Prime Minister has previously expressed his love for the Star Wars franchise, even admitting to playing with LEGO Star Wars and owning a couple of lightsabers in Downing Street. His enthusiasm for the franchise is evident as he anticipates the visit to Galaxy’s Edge.
A Star Wars Fan’s Dream
Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a themed area at Disneyland that offers fans an immersive Star Wars experience. From piloting the Millennium Falcon to building your own lightsaber, the attraction is a dream come true for Star Wars enthusiasts.
During the Q&A, Sunak expressed his excitement about visiting the Star Wars section of Disneyland. He jokingly added that his kids fear they might have to spend more time there than they would like, given his enthusiasm for the franchise.
Nick Ferrari: It was during the hustings you haven’t had a holiday for three years I remember we talked about that up in Leeds if you recall when we first met, are you getting holiday this year?
Rishi Sunak: Yeah, I’m actually going on holiday this afternoon, the country will be left in the capable hands of the Deputy Prime Minister. So we’re having our first proper family summer holiday in I think a few years for sure. I’m very much looking forward to spending time with my kids. We’re going to California which is where I met my wife so it’s very special to us, but the kids are very excited ’cause I’m taking them to Disneyland. Actually I’m very excited, there’s a new, although not that new anymore, Star Wars bit of Disneyland which i’m very excited about, so they rather fear that we’re going to have to spend more time there than they would like.
A Well-Deserved Break
The Prime Minister’s upcoming holiday comes after a period of intense work. Ferrari reminded Sunak during the Q&A that he hadn’t taken a holiday in three years. In response, Sunak confirmed that he was indeed going on holiday and that the country would be left in the capable hands of the Deputy Prime Minister during his absence.
In conclusion, the UK Prime Minister’s upcoming visit to Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is a testament to his love for the Star Wars franchise. It’s a well-deserved break for the Prime Minister, and we hope he and his family have a “Forcetastic” time at Galaxy’s Edge.
