Friday Update: Voidstar Warzon
This weeks Friday Update is out and it brings with it a new systems page on the official SWTOR site. TheWarzone Systems page contains details on all three of the available PVP confrontations including a brief description and accompanying video. Those Warzones are: The Voidstar, an assault style Warzone set upon a derelict Imperial Battle Cruiser. One faction attempts to fight its way to access the ship’s data core, while the opposing faction defends the ship and attempts to prevent the other side from reaching the data core. The factions are then switched, with the attackers becoming the defenders. Huttball, an highly tactical Warzone set in a pit-like arena. Teams battle for control of a ball which appears in the center of the arena. The team which collects the ball must run with it, pass it, or use whatever means necessary to carry it across the opposing team’s goal line,…
Species of Starwars: Jawa
Jawas are diminutive humanoids from the rim world of Tatooine, often described as “rodent-like”, and speaking in a randomly variable language that is very difficult for outsiders to decipher, when they want it to be so. Little is known of their physiology, but they are believed to be natives of Tatooine, along with the larger “Sand People” (also known as Tusken Raiders). Some xenologists have theorized that Jawas have human origins. The normal body temperature of a Jawa is 116 degrees, and the only feature usually seen of a Jawa is a pair of glowing amber eyes peeking out from under its cowl. They are best known as scavengers of the desert, traveling in huge, lumbering machines known as sand crawlers, legacies of an earlier era when Tatooine was home to massive mining operations — When the corporate mining operations closed, the tracked mining/processing vehicles were left behind, and claimed…
Facebook Image of the Week #35
It’s wednesday again and BioWare have added a new screenshot to the official Star Wars the old republic Facebook page. This time it’s a really interesting screenshot as we get to see how the jedi temple looks like ( from the out side) after the Sith had fun with it – remember the first cinematic trailer from back in 2009? Once home to the Jedi Archives, the Jedi Temple on Coruscant now lays in ruin years after the Sith’s sacking of Coruscant.
Star Wars: TOR: Revan Mini-Excerpt part 2
A few weeks ago, we reported that Star Wars Books on Facebook presents their a mini-excerpt from Drew Karpyshyn’s upcoming Darth Revan novel. Now Star Wars Books on Facebook presents their second mini-excerpt from the book: “It’s not enough to secure your silence through threats and blackmail. When we finally move against the Emperor, I want you on our side.” “And how do you intend to convince me?” … “Have you ever heard tales of the Emperor’s childhood?” Scourge shook his head. “I don’t even know what planet he’s from.” “Few people do. He’s hidden his past, because if the truth came to light none would follow him.” The book is scheduled to be released on November 15th, 2011 from Del Rey Books. No official reviews are up from the book yet, but we will keep you informed as they show up.
Jedi Shadow PvP Footage
Russian MMORPG website innrey.ru just released some fresh Jedi Shadow PvP Footage. The video is 20 min long and shoves quite a few interesting find I personally didn’t know yet. Stuff like a Marauder can use a viborblade: Anyways. Enjoy this Solid footage of the shadow/assassin class. Personally this is seriously making me consider rolling one of these for PvP purposes.
Hall Hood and Chris Collins interview
Swedish website bobafett.se had the chance to talk to Hall Hood and Chris Collins, when the guys was in Stockholm for the Nordic Immersion Day Event a few weeks ago. The website is in Swedish but the interview is in English, so it’s definitely worth checking out. Here is a snip: I have to ask about the story itself, what is your favourite story ingame?Hall Hood: I cant choose. I know all the stories and they are great. The reality is our game is such that every class has it’s own unique story. It fulfills its own different fantasy of the Star Wars setting and fills a different niche. So a lot for me depends on what mood I am in on any given day what story I want to play through. That said, I am a smuggler guy. so that is what I want, that is what I enjoy. If push comes to shove I want…
Know your Lore: Zayne Carrick
Since it was announced last weekend that Zayne Carrick would return in the KOTOR comics, we thought it would be time to do a “Know your lore” Piece on this interesting character. Many fans have speculated about Zayne’s future. If the Jedi Masters’ fears turn out to be accurate, there is a possibility that Zayne could become one of the characters from the Knights of the Old Republic games. In particular, many fans predict that Zayne may become the Jedi Exile. Others theorize that Zayne may be Darth Nihilus, judging by the “destroyer of worlds” prophecy. Non of these theories came through though, but we might see him or notes about him when the game comes out. Zayne Carrick was a young Padawan learner in the Jedi Order during the Mandalorian Wars who wielded a yellow lightsaber. He was brought to the Jedi Order when he was several years old, coming from a…

SWTOR Slave Leia outfit
Yeah.. .The outfit is in the game. You know… that outfit. As movie costumes go, it was both small and fleeting, occupying only two minutes of screen time in Return of the Jedi, but nearly a quarter-century later, Princess Leia’s slave-girl costume occupies a unique position in pop culture and shows no signs of slipping. Here is how it looks in SWTOR:

Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan
Random House has a good chunk of the first chapter of Drew Karpyshyn new novel Star Wars: The Old Republic: Revan up on its site. Critics haven’t been nice on the book so far but so far they have all be unofficial reviews. Any ways, here is a chance to check it our for yourself: LORD SCOURGE RAISED the hood of his cloak as he stepped off the shuttle, a shield against the wind and pelting rain. Storms were common here on Dromund Kaas; dark clouds perpetually blocked out the sun, rendering terms like day and night meaningless. The only natural illumination came from the frequent bursts of lightning arcing across the sky, but the glow from the spaceport and nearby Kaas City provided more than enough light to see where he was going. The powerful electrical storms were a physical manifestation of the dark side power that engulfed the entire…

Complete Datacron Location List
Datacrons are part of the codex system in Star Wars The Old Republic. They are placed throughout the worlds for the players to find, usually in hard to reach places. Although some of these items are hidden from view, spotting other datacrons may be relatively easy. Even with these more visible items, though, reaching the datacron will typically entail extra exploration and navigation problem-solving. As a reward for this exploration ingenuity, if a player successfully reachs and interacts with certain datacrons, one of the player’s character stats will be increased — permanently. Here is the complete list of Datacrons, rdered by codex entry # Datacron Locations by planet Hutta Datacron Locations Coruscant Datacron Locations Tython Datacron Locations Ord Mantell Datacron Locations Korriban Datacron Locations Dromund Kaas Datacron Locations Taris Datacron Locations Balmorra Datacron Locations Nar Shaddar Datacron Locations Tatooine Datacron Locations Alderaan Datacron Locations Quesh Datacron Locations Hoth Datacron Locations…
The Guild Sphere: V Squad
Today I had the opportunity to have a chat with Vincer, from the old Star Wars galaxies guild “V Squad””. The guild is a friendly, casual guild that supports the galactic Republic. Check out the interview below. Where did your guilds name come from? “”V Squad” was named by a member of my Star Wars Galaxies guild. I ran the squad as “Vincer Kaden”, and this person took to just calling me “V” in chat. When we formed up as an official player guild, we took the name but decided to make the “V” stand for “Victory”. Can you give me a quick 2-3 sentance description of your guild? V Squad is a friendly, casual guild that supports the Republic and each other. We are organized and respectful, with the primary goal of having fun in Star Wars: The Old Republic. How did your guild come about? The guild was formed out of…
Drew Karpyshyn to write fourth SWTOR Novel
Erich Schoeneweiss posted on on the Star Wars Books Facebook page: Just announced at our Del Rey Star Wars books panel: Drew Karpyshyn will write a fourth novel that will tie into The Old Republic for Fall 2012 and Tim Zahn will write a new novel starring Han Solo set in the classic films era. More details to come on both as they develop. (ES) So Karpyshyn’s doing the fourth SWTOR book… is that to say that the Kemp duo isn’t SWTOR? Or that if they were, they’d be coming out after Karpyshyn’s? Excellent anyways! My two favorite SW writers. Can’t wait!
Athiss (The Tomb Opens) Flashpoint
The one thing I found interesting in this flashpoint was how Bioware implemented crew skills just like they did in Bringing the Hammer Down: if you have bioanalysis in this one you can pick up special mushrooms and use them to summon a miniature version of the 2nd boss that’ll fight alongside you for a couple minutes or so. I hope all of the flashpoints have these crew skill aspects integrated because it’s pretty fun, especially when it’s your crew skill because then you feel all high and mighty! LG03 had this comment on the flashpoint: This flashpoint was pretty disappointing to me, it was just so…bland. You can’t even blame it entirely on not being finished, as far as I could tell it was just missing some busy work quests. It had the potential to be a much more story driven instance but there’s no plot outside the initial…

Q&A with Daniel Erickson.
BioWare had a short Q&A session with Daniel Erickson at the official Facebook page earlier today. The following was posted on SWTOR’s Facebook wall, lots of good questions and enticing answers! Thomas Haugeberg: Is there going to be an end for this game’s story? Will one side rule in the end? Daniel: We know where the galaxy ends up in the next 3000 years but there’s a long way to go until we get there and hopefully (since we all like our jobs) that story won’t be ending anytime soon! Jason Trent: Are all “romances” with non-companion NPC’s one night stands or are some of them fully fleshed out romances? Daniel: Some of them are long term romances, some actually spanning across several chapters. Travis Clay Henry: What character in ToR has been your favorite to write thus far? Daniel: Vette. Writing a complete character from start to finish is…
