Here is a new game update for Star Wars: The old Republic. Bioware assures fans that they still have big plans for SWTOR despite Charles Boyd’s departure. This update will incorporate a host of new content and fixes, including: New daily mission arcs for Republic and Imperial players on the planet Manaan. A challenging new Operation for 8-player teams. SWTOR: A Look Behind the Scenes with Ossus
BioWare just posted an interview with Charles Boyd, the Creative Director for Star Wars: The Old Republic, regarding Game update Game Update 5.10 ‘Jedi Under Siege’ witch went live back in december. Check it out: In Game Update 5.10 ‘Jedi Under Siege’ we saw the return of several characters. How did you decide which of these familiar faces players would see? Probably the biggest example here is Darth Malgus; I always felt he was a bit shortchanged in the core game’s storyline, given that he’s easily our most iconic and recognizable Sith character. That said, I didn’t want to bring him back until his return would feel like a natural part of the story. Now that we’ve returned to the core conflict of Republic versus Sith Empire that Malgus himself originally kicked off, it seemed like the right time to bring him back into the fold. Master Gnost-Dural is an interesting…

I’ve been helping family with some hard stuff this week (and continuing to do so) so I apologise for being less responsive than I’d like in Musco’s absence. So don’t hesitate to share your thoughts! Just know that if I don’t get right back to you, it’s not personal. Really hard to believe we’re at the end of KotFE/KotET; I’m so proud of our amazing team and the passion, creativity, and dedication they’ve shown all this time Hopefully you’ve enjoyed the ride! Either way, the next step in your characters’ journeys will be pretty different from the last couple of years and I’m really excited about sharing more about this new story and its…
SWTOR Charles Boyd Interview
ObiRadd ventures down to Austin to question Charles Boyd about 5.6 and beyond in this video from Imperial Army. The video is about an hour long, so make sure you have time to watch it in full before you get started. It’s definitely work taking the time out of your day to listen. You can play it in the background while you’re doing something else if you want, but it’s an interesting interview with Bioware staff from the studio in Austin. If you’re wondering what’s going to happen in 5.6 and beyond, this is going to help you out. So, what did you think?
Talking Star Wars: The Old Republic’s Future with BioWare’s Charles Boyd
We’ve been writing to you about SWTOR since years before the game released. We’ve been there with you each step of the way as the game changed and evolved. So what can we expect to see from the future of SWTOR? That’s a very good question and we’re not the only ones asking it. Den of Geek spoke to BioWare’s Charles Boyd about the future of SWTOR, the latest expansion, and what’s next for the game. You should definitely head on over there and read it in full for yourself but here’s a snippet: Will SWTOR‘s future development continue in this chapter-focused story direction? From a writing standpoint, I think the chapter style is really strong, and has led to a significant improvement in the quality and presentation of the story. My own personal perception is that chapters are most fun when “binged” and played together rather than spread out individually,…

January SWTOR Story Livestream Notes
BioWare posted a video yesterday featuring Charles Boyd and Alexander Freed. The video go over the story in Knight of the fallen empire, and upcoming content we can expect with chapter 10. KoTFE Recap Storytelling in games has the unique of challenging of having players able to see and know the villain without placing players in the same room as them as they would be dispatched quickly by the player. You need to get the villains upclose to the players to be a significant presence in their life. It would be hard to imagine Star Wars Ep4 told from only Luke’s perspective. Vader would just be a random Tie Fighter pilot. Vaylin is an unpredictable villain. She is difficult to pin down, you never know what she is going to do next. You got lots of serious figures like Arcann being very stoic. So seeing her and Arcann act entirely different…

Surface Details: The events of a boring and forgettable day.
BioWare posted a new of there famous diary entries. This entry was written by Charles Boyd himself, lead writer for the Trooper story. This entry is really well done. I almost wish bioware would release a shot story series of these “diary entries”. Give a great sense of backstory. Even though, those of us, who follow what have been datamined out of the Public test servers, knows where this story leads, I still love how they continue to give good quality writing to their new storyarchs. Brings me back to the days of “Blood of the Empire” and the “Holo Journals of Gnost Dural”. Check out out over at the official website, or read our copy paste below: 08.14.2014 Surface Details “Next.” Varko gave the hydro-dispenser on his desk a quick tap, then rubbed the fluids into the skin of his hands. He’d heard it could take a few weeks…

2014 looks like it’s going to be a good year for SWTOR! One piece of good news after the next. This time Charles Boyd tweets about new voice recording for the game. If you don’t know who Charles is, he is the lead writer at Bioware Austin for the Trooper class in Star Wars: The Old Republic. The tweet comes with the image above. The other guy looks like Brian Bloom voicing the male Trooper in Star Wars The Old Republic In LA again, recording awesome talent for upcoming #SWTOR updates 🙂 — Charles Boyd (@Charles_Boyd) January 27, 2014 I’d be really thrilled to hear that any of these names were in the studio with him: Brian Bloom, Nolan North, Natasha Little, Maury Sterling, Euan Morton… and 11 other names – That could mean new class story content. On the other hand, could also…
BIoWare is doing voice recording for upcoming content
Charles Boyd made an interesting tweet yesterday regarding voice recording for upcoming content swtor content. If you don’t know who Charles Boyd is, I can tell you he is credited as the lead writer for the trooper class on IMDB. We don’t know what the new content is yet, but it’s properly for the upcoming expansion, or maybe something coming down later down the pipeline. Another interesting thing about all this, is Charles Boyd’s twitter description is ” Lead Writer on Star Wars: The Old Republic, Trooper lover, and historical arms-and-armor nerd. Bioware’s Charles Boyd Shares Intel About The Story Of The Trooper
It’s a great day for interviews because the folks over at Republic Trooper also have an interesting piece with BioWare’s Charles Boyd that gives us some real insight and intel on the Trooper. Charles is the lead writer at Bioware Austin for the Trooper class in Star Wars: The Old Republic so he is the go-to guy for anything Trooper related. He has real info on the story arc, inspirations, romance arcs, and even some origin information about a certain Trooper you may know from the TOR cinematics! This is really cool because Republic Trooper was able to sit down and ask some one-on-one questions for the rest of us. Example questions: Republic Trooper: Are there any particular sources that you drew inspiration from for the Trooper Storyline? RT: When compared with the other class storylines how high is the surprise factor throughout the Trooper story arc? RT: Are you…
