Redna and chill from ootinicast.com went to the Community Cantina held in Seattle on Saturday evening, 31 August 2013. There they had the chance to sit in on the Q&A session featuring Amber Green (Live Services Specialist) and Eric Musco (Community Manager) and Lead Designer Damion Schubert. The Community Cantina in Seattle might have been the biggest cantina ever, with more then 300 people in attendance. Therefor they had to split up the whole thing, including Q&A, into two parts, and the second round barely got everyone in who was still in line. The Q&A transcript also includes some questions that was asked afterwards that weren’t part of the formal Q&A. Check ot the snippet below, and read the whole ting over at ootinicast.com Q: Why not more playable species, like Nautilans? A: Each species takes tons of time to develop for all the options, moves, and so on. Because Cathar sold well, they are in…

What is this…. Life Day thing
Many people who haven’t played Star Wars: Galaxies, or are not much into the whole Star Wars lore, might have a hard time understanding what this whole Life Day business is all about. People who played Star Wars: Galaxies already knows all about this, but if you haven’t played SWG, I can tell you that Life Day was an ingame event. It was the SWG version of Christmas. Every year 2 gifts were given out by the Developers to everybody in-game. One gift is for people to open themselves, and the other gift is for you to trade with a friend. Before Star Wars: Galaxies, Wookiee Life Day made its first appearance in The Star Wars Holiday Special. Unlike most aspects of the normally well-crafted Star Wars universe, Life Day is utterly expedient, inserted into the show to provide a very basic goal for the heroes, and lend a bit of topical…

Impressions – Bioware Cantina Tour from Austin
Two Fridays ago BioWare turned Mr. Tramps, a local Austin hangout, into a cantina straight off Alderaan. The Alpha Strike Force (ASF) guild of the Jedi Covenant couldn’t pass on a chance like that and sent one of its finest officers to investigate and record his impressions! The backroom of the cantina had three wall-sized screens continuously playing all of the SWTOR videos. To see the arrival of the Sith at Korriban, the battle of Alderaan and the fall of the Jedi Temple on the huge screens was a sight to behold. The videos really set the mood for the night. Approximately eighty players and upwards of twenty designers filled the cantina sharing beers and stories, each in great spirits. Upon arrival, BioWare gave each player a Tauntaun Fawn pet for in-game use and a copy of the Journal of Grand Master Gnost-Dural. This proved an excellent ice-breaker – each designer carried a sharpie and would gladly…
