SWTOR Bug Causes Some Players to Cap Out on Pets and Mounts

life day swtorI have a longtime history with collecting pets in MMORPGs. I’m not sure why but I just love them. When I play a game with pets, I want to have them all. I do this some with mounts but nothing at all like I do with non-combat pets. I love the fun of collecting them, having pets that few other players have and the variety of being able to pull out different pets whenever I want.

If you’re a pet collection, too, you need to be aware of a current bug in SWTOR that makes it where some players cannot get more mounts or pets. I have seen several users post in the forums, in the game or on Reddit about a cap on pets and/or mounts but others do not have this problem. So why is it affecting some and not others?

Well, no one actually knows. I have researched it and I cannot find any official information on the issue other than the fact that there should not be a cap. And it makes sense, really- with the implementation of the Cartel Market, why would BioWare limit their own income potential by capping them out?

The most common scenario a player will describe when hitting this cap is that they try to “learn” the mount or pet and it disappears, not adding the skill to their quickbars, vehicle list or anywhere else. A couple of players have even tested this invisible cap by deleting an item they have previously learned and finding they can then learn the new item.

Others report they have contacted customer service and they still don’t know why the bug is occurring. It’s not listed on the master bug list but from everything we can find, there is NO cap on mounts or pets in SWTOR. So if you find you are stuck and unable to learn a new one, put in a ticket and get some help from customer service.
