Episode VII Stormtrooper in EA Battlefront Files?

Here’s a rumor (or possible hoax) for you regarding Star Wars Battlefront. Someone claims to have found game files that indicate there might be First Order Stormtroopers in the game. He created a video for it showing these models/files. AngryEchidna says, “In the workshop for SFM i noticed a file that had models from Starwars Battlefront (The third main one) and among the files uploaded is a highly detailed New Order Stormtrooper. I put some of the other models from Battlefront in the video so you can compare the level of detail for yourself.” See the video here: So what do you think? People are skeptical, and rightly so. So far, no one else has been able to replicate it so it’s really looking like it might just be a hoax. When you add in the fact that the video came out just after the game was launched, there’s a very…

Let C-3PO Be Your Copilot with the Latest Waze Update (Plus Movie Ticket Giveaway!)

Want to add some Star Wars flair your drive to work in the morning? Why not take C-3PO on as your copilot? 3PO, R2-D2, and BB-8 can now be a part of your drive with Waze, the social driving app. Your own personal protocol droid will give you directions, warn you of hazards, and occasionally surprise you with a hilarious line. For example, when I was driving this morning, Waze detected a hazard, and 3PO came on over my radio: “Hazard reported ahead. We’ll be destroyed for sure . . . this is madness!” I laughed out loud. In my car. By myself. When I got home, C-3PO gave me his opinion on my apartment complex in his signature British accent: “My . . . what a desolate place this is.” I had to smile at that one. But he doesn’t just talk when he has something to tell you. He’ll also give you…

The Darkside of Fairy Tales

Who doesn’t love Star Wars toys? I have loved them all my life, since as far back as I can remember. Even in my college years and post-college years; after eras of student/community organizing, after reporting in a war torn region, after starting my own business, after living with my lover, deep in the dark forest of adulthood, I still couldn’t resist going to the toy section of any department store chain, just to see what Star Wars was up to. And I wasn’t alone. We have all seen someone from generation X, standing there just to see the Star Wars toys with the occasional child also checking out the magic. In the mid 90’s and late 90’s I read disturbing accounts of Disney abusing overseas workers and even children to make their products. I never bought those products as presents for family members and friends in fear of supporting…

‘Star Wars Battlefront: Twilight Company’ Review: The Story The Game Forgot

If you’re reading this review, then we are sure that you are impatiently waiting until you are able to play Star Wars: Battlefront on your console or PC. You might also be aware that while Battlefront looks like an online multiplayers dream, the game will not have much of a story. Instead of going the traditional route where creators weave a classic Star Wars story into an amazing game, Battlefront is happy enough with its multiplayer hook and no original plot or characters to speak of. Well that may not be entirely true, because Battlefront does have an actual story, it’s just actually playable. In the new book, Star Wars Battlefront: Twilight Company, the author, Alexander Freed, gives life to the war that is happening between the Empire and the Rebellion by focusing on the 61st Mobile Infantry unit, while it battles for freedom against Stormtroopers, Darth Vader, and Star…

Knights of the Fallen Empire Feels More Like A Classic BioWare RPG, and that’s a good thing!

The new 4.0 for Star Wars: The Old Republic has changed everything, while a fresh expansion to one of the craziest multiplayer games is changing things too. Last year, a writer at kotaku asked developers that were working on the game, what their plans for the future were. What they told him is a phrase that they told him was “a return to BioWare cinematic storytelling.” However, he didn’t believe them at all, but they actually did what they said they were going to do. BioWare was responsible for last year’s expansion, Shadow of Revan, and it gave many people no hope for the games future. The expansion was really just an odd mashup of BioWare RPG and massive multiplayer online game tropes, with much lower production values. The writer from kotaku recently started playing Knights of the Fallen Empire, and it officially came out for all Star Wars subscribers…

Star Wars: Battlefront Alpha is Not the Full Game

There is a lot of talk about Star Wars: Battlefront and understandably so. With the date of launch easing ever so closer, fans will continue to look for every little piece of gameplay info they can find. In doing so, we want to take a moment to remind you that Alpha game footage and leaks can be deceiving. Alpha is not the full game. We repeat, Alpha is NOT the full game. For a variety of reasons, the Alpha is a barebones, stripped version of the real game. This makes it easier to show testers the basic gameplay and even graphics and more but without requiring them to download the full game and also without releasing the game in entirety during a testing phase. This is standard practice with video game launches and testing. So if you’re judging the full game based on the Alpha, keep this in mind. Folks…

Star Wars Battlefront Won’t “Feel Like or Play Like” Battlefield, Discusses Space Combat

Some Star Wars fans have been concerned that Star Wars: Battlefront will be no more than Battlefield with a Star Wars theme. According to DICE producer Jesper Nielsen, this is not the case at all. Mr. Nielsen goes by “TheBikingViking” on Reddit. Nielsen responded to Star Wars fans on Reddit about the concerns over similarities between games. He stated that they may share some similarities, but they will stand out alone from each other well. Nielsen addressed a concern from a gamer who felt he was “robbed” by purchasing Battlefield Hardline. “I simply don’t get the Battlefield re-skin comment; from what we’ve shown, in what way does it look like Battlefield? Are you seeing tanks, lots of destruction, etc? This will not feel like or play like Battlefield. That’s never been our intention. Its fine you’re disappointed. Ok, so from what you’ve heard and seen, the game is not what…

What Will Star Wars Be Like Without Jedi?

You’ve probably been reading a lot about The Force Awakens, but there’s another movie in the works that may have stayed off of your radar. It’s called Rogue One, and it’s the first of the standalone Star Wars movies promised by Disney, which are now going under the collective title of Star Wars Anthology. The movie focuses on a Rebel team who sets out to steal the Death Star plans. We know that Gareth Edwards (Godzilla) is attached to direct, and that Felicity Jones (Theory of Everything) will play a main character. Both Riz Ahmed (who played in Nightcrawler opposite Jake Gyllenhall) and Sam Claflin (Finnick from the Hunger Games movies) are rumored to be under consideration for male leads. That’s really all we know so far. At the end of Star Wars Celebration 2015, where we saw the debut of the second trailer for The Force Awakens, we also got to…

R2-D2 Measuring Cups from ThinkGeek.com Review

Of all the products we got from the very generous ThinkGeek to review, this one is the one I was most excited about. Before I even knew we were going to get it to review, my friend had shared it on my Facebook wall and I knew I wanted to get it. She knows I’m a Star Wars fan and often tags me in all things Star Wars themed. I don’t mind, of course. But this one stood out to me more than others and I’m not even that big of a cook, really. In fact, if you’re not big on kitchen duty, this might even inspire you to spend some more time in there mixing and measuring things up. My thoughts? It looks really cool and I will probably display it more than I use it. However, if you do plan to use it, it works great. Just don’t…

In January, the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commissiion (AGLC) said the concept of a government-run online gambling site was “actively under review” after determining there were “expectations from consumers that be available to Alberta players.” Alberta could soon join most provinces in having government-run online gambling sites. If the plan goes ahead will be able to play the slot games from home.Bill Robinson, the CEO of the Gaming and Liquor Commission , spoke with the Calgary Eyeopener’s David Gray about the plan to bring government-run online gaming to make popular.CEO Bill Robinson said the AGLC was “going out into the market place to see what types of programs exist and would be best for us.” Assuming they see something they like, provincial finance minister Robin Campbell would make the final call. ESA Lands on Comet 67P

A space probe just landing on a moving comet. They say it is like hitting a golf ball and having it land on the moon. This is a very rare and interesting event indeed. It took 10 years for the probe to reach the comment. Then it also had to achieve the difficult task of actually remaining on the comet. The event will hold a place in the history books for sure. The Washington Post used an Imperial Star Destroyer from Star Wars to compare the comet’s size. Way to get people into the story and current events by reaching them with nerd humor! More Cancelled Star Wars Games

In the land of Star Wars games, many never make it to be played and enjoyed. It’s a cold, hard truth of the industry and one that we have seen happen time and time again, to the frustration of many onlooking fans. We experienced this with Star Wars 1313 and now you can add a cancelled, complete Rogue Squadron game for the Wii to the list. A recent interview on IGN’s podcast “Nintendo Voice Chat” we hear from Julian Eggebrecht, President of Factor 5 (now defunct) about where his team was at working on different Star Wars games for multiple platforms. In this interview, Eggebrecht says, “As you might remember, it leaked from LucasArts that we were working on a trilogy compilation, and that was actually for the [original] Xbox.” This trilogy was to contain: Star Wars: Rogue Squadron Star Wars Rogue Squadron II: Rogue Leader Star Wars Rogue Squadron…
