Star Wars Outlaws: a closer look at the game’s explorable planets

Slated for release in 2024, Star Wars Outlaws will put players in the shoes of outlaw scoundrel Kay Vess and her companion Nix. This action-adventure title developed by Ubisoft is bound to feature an open-world map of massive proportions.

As reported here on SWTOR Strategies, every planet will be the size of two or three zones in Ubisoft’s already massive Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Instead of generating random worlds, each location will be handcrafted to emulate the saga’s lore while making all planets instantly recognizable. But which planets will players revisit during their intergalactic odyssey? Let’s look at some of the planets that may appear in this open-world epic.

Toshara

Officially disclosed by Massive Entertainment developers in a Famitsu interview, Toshara is the only original location to have been confirmed for Star Wars Outlaw so far. This new planet of arid canyons and dry lands reminiscent of real-life Tanzania is actually a moon. Gameplay-wise, Toshara should focus on wilderness exploration.

In this home of countless outlaw groups intermingling with the Empire, Kay can upgrade her weaponry and take on missions. While giving players a welcome respite from all the Syndicates politics the game is set to revolve around in these dangerous times, Toshara won’t be entirely devoid of plot significance. The gameplay tidbits show Kay forced to flee the planet after an Imperial officer puts a bounty on her head.

Kijimi

Kijimi is a frozen planet located in the Bryx sector. Once known as a spiritual hub, this mountainous world went downhill in the wake of the fall of the Galactic Empire. The monasteries hidden atop the snowy paths of Mt. Izukika lay in ruins as the place has been overrun by smuggling gangs, turning into a bedrock of lawlessness and illegal spice trading.

This frigid planet ends up being destroyed by the Sith Eternal after a prolonged and brutal First Order occupation. Given that the story of Outlaws enfolds in between the Empire and Jedi eras, it is unclear what state Kijimi is in when players land in its spaceport. But the footage shown so far displays various exploration options, including a populous cliffside city where Kay may meet Kijimi’s infamous Spice Runners.

Tatooine

Including Tatooine was undoubtedly a no-brainer for the game’s creative team. With its iconic orbiting twin suns, Luke and Anakin Skywalker’s home world is probably the one planet casual fans can name in the bat of an eye. And recent Disney Plus spin-offs such as Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Mandalorian made sure to reestablish Tatooine as an integral landmark of the Star Wars saga.

Perhaps not the brightest center of the universe, this sparsely populated desert planet no less contributed to shaping galactic history. But this haven for criminal activity also offers many stories to tell in the gaming medium. A smuggler herself, Kay Vess may run into familiar faces as she delves into the seedy underbelly of this sandy planet. Tellingly, Jabba the Hutt appears in the Outlaws reveal trailer alongside his presumed henchmen carrying a carbonite-entombed Han Solo.

Cantonica

Cantonica harbors the headquarters of the Sixth Kin criminal organization, which operates in the casino city of Canto Bight. This location remains to be firmly confirmed, but the artificial ocean and mountainous desert showcased in the game’s trailer may point to this Outer Rim arid planet. Another clue may hint at the planet’s capital popping up, since the Outlaws cinematic trailer shows Kay playing Sabacc – poker with a Star Wars spin. Considering Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic featured a take on Blackjack, Pazaak, it isn’t unreasonable to expect that Outlaws may include intergalactic casino minigames in the atmospheric Canto Bight.

But as expectant fans with a knack for gambling wait for a definite answer, they can always turn to online options to bide their time. And hubs like CasinoReviews.com can get newcomers started. Experts meticulously publish detailed evaluations on both renowned platforms and emerging casinos. Reviews factor in essential criteria like product offerings, payout speed, and feedback from fellow players. Additionally, reviewers prioritize endorsing platforms committed to secure and responsible gambling.

An open-world Star Wars game worth its salt is poised to include both iconic and brand-new locations. Evidently, the above planets won’t be the only places up for exploration in the next interstellar adventure in a galaxy far, far away. But no matter how many planets make the final cut, their monumental size and sheer distinctness will surely enrapture fans.
